One of my favorite classes in law school was International Law. My grade suffered because it was entirely based on a paper.  And I was a day late getting it in.  Was docked a whole letter grade.  I had this bad habit in law school of picking very ambitious topics, and mine was environmental refugees.  So yeah. My interest in it is both old and deep. Considering that I previously took international based political science classes.  Old and deep.  Anyway.

On to domestic tragedies.  

ICE at airports is not the issue as much as how ICE needs to be shuttered.  The successor unit needs a very limited jurisdiction.  And if it takes 90 days to reevaluate under stricter qualifications, the former ICE agents who want to work in the new unit, and screen newbies?  Then so be it.  Remove the pathological and artificial quotas and we can easily live with 90 days of hiatus.

I will just now jump to ordinary politics.   This meme well represents my current mood.  The Democratic party clearly is better and governing, and has a truly moral moral foundation. Which is a large part in the being better at governing part.  But these days they seem not good, sorta bad at politicking.  Particularly when some of the leaders still insist that being more centrist, and or populist is the answer.  Fuck that.   

Zohran Mamdani's success in getting elected Mayor of New York might not be the template for other areas and offices,  But he campaigned on progressive positions and got the rank and file in NY excited.  I know.  I was at that last big rally before the election.  It was a homecoming for Democrats who remember and never forgot what we are supposed to believe in, and do.  

We believe in letting people be.  We believe in equal justice for all.  Not just the people who are most like us.  And as opposed to the ignorant shit republicans say about us.  Most of us do not believe in free stuff just for the joy of giving free stuff.  What we actually believe in is paying the debt owed to groups and individuals who were denied equal justice and rights.  And we also believe in helping those who need help.  Don't be judgmental when you could be helpful.

And what we do it try to enact policies and govern to achieve that.

What does the Owl have to do with this?  Nothing.  She hasn't commented on it yet.  I am not going to do an inventory.  But she really doesn't to my mind, pay all that much attention to Republican white supremacist bullshit.  Meaning, she doesn't call that shit out in a quick and predictable, disdainful way. At a minimum, not enough to meet my decent people standards.   Just saying.

But hey.  She might catch up with the rest of the politically aware blogospehere, and comment on this.  But I am not holding my breath.

Oh.  One more thing.  Unlike Vance, I do believe in guilt by association.  After all.  You can't really know what is someone's deeply held beliefs.  All we get to judge people by is what they say, what they do, and who they choose to associate with.   And all three do not always line up.  Sometimes they do.  Like with Carlson and Vance.  And Vance did not kick Carlson to the curb.  I judge him for that, and harshly.

Oh. Here is a good yet not clinically approved, rule of thumb. When the crazy gets past being quirky cuteness, and gets into the delusional and or mean? It's at least a personality flaw, if not personality disorder. Both categories of disorder are treatable by credentialed professionals. Don't condone the disorder and or disease.

Her Blog's Commenters are Poster Children for Dunning-Kruger. And I am Thinking Ann Althouse is on the Dunning-Kruger Spectrum Herself.

 Despite her list of achievements, Ann Althouse really acts really dumb sometimes.  But she has a right to be wrong, and dumb, both at the same time.  But what is triggering this post is not so much the underlying story of her blog post about the Ray Epps  conspiracy theory.  (Go look for yourself about that if you don't know of it yet.   I am not linking a legit news source, even, over some looney tunes, obviously insane conspiracy theory.)  But I am  . . .  perversely fascinated by her delusional views about herself and the importance of her voice to the world.  She takes her self as baselessly seriously as John McWhorter does, with out the record of published useless books he has.

First things first.  It is her blog.  She can do anything she likes there.  She can even break TOS for the host and risk being purged by the host.  And she most certainly can play devil's advocate over stories about conspiracy theories, claiming she is being a watch dog of the media.

Now she might be a well known blogger, but there are bony assed white teen girls who can barely dance, who are getting more notice on line  on TikTok than she ever has or will.  So yeah.  That is what I mean by takes her self baselessly seriously.  If she is lucky  some more influential blogger like instapundit will link her.  But even if.  The NYT don't give a shit about her opinion.  Even if they let her be a contributor for a short period of time, years and years ago.  So acting as if she is doing anything other than amusing her own self and anyone who reads her shit and is amused?  That is some pretty dumb stuff.

And on the other level.  In the comment thread she resorted to one of her more dumb, stupid human (blogger/writer) tricks.  She often seems to be serious when she challenges people to do shit in her posts.  She does that lame assed . . .  the paper should have done this.  The writer should have asked that shit, in her post.  But she went a bit further and issued a command to her Dunning-Krugerish conspiracy theory loving hive drones not to repeat the same dumb . . .  read this (illegitimate) source for the truth. . . comments they always actually seem to be making.  She said instead show her the evidence they got that the NYT did not seem to get.

Not that I care one way or another.  but that whole taking yourself too seriously thing can be evidence of mental deterioration, particularly when it is over trivial shit.  Just saying.

Speaking of that.  It was yesterday, while I was processing the goat fucking lunacy of GOP denialism over the (as I call it) attempted putsch of 1/6/2021 that it came to me.  Those people are not only as fucked up as a street corner crack ho.  They are as fucked up as street corner crack ho suffering withdrawal, while in a Malaria induced delusional fever.

And she was trying to get those kinds of  goat fucking loons to behave reasonably?  Talk about dumb shit.  Not just because, but I have gone long.  But over the years I have thought she was weak in some cognitive functions.  And her trying to get her goat fucking loons to behave like her former law students is really evidence of occupying some sort of position of the Dunning-Kruger Spectrum. If there actually is a spectrum. And if there isn't I call dibs on credit for the coinage!  But I digress.

She ain'ts as dysfunctional as her hive.  But she really is a weirdo.  Sometimes.  Just my opinion.  and that is why I bother to visit her blog. I go to see how bad the latest train wreck is.  And the conspiracy theory story thread is a 10 alarm catastrophe. Pretty cool stuff!

Oh.  I am using the word weirdo because I watched the Hawkeye series on Disney this past week.  And Yelena, one of my favorite Marvel characters of all time, used the word weird all the time.  So it is stuck in my head.  But I hear it in a (not real, actually) Russian accent.

 I was wrong.  It took notorious Blogging Queen Bee Ann Althouse thirty five days to restore her racist Republican dominated comment section.  It is slightly different I suppose.  More moderated to start.  But it is called a comment section.

Oddly enough perhaps, as I never tried to post there, I am not allowed to post with my account here, there.  For years I have resisted useless exchanges on line, save the now rare pissing match on FB.  The general, usual rule is, I don't swim in that shit.  My need to tell racist Republican idiots they are, mostly died off 10 or more years ago.  

But concerning my pre banned status?  As I like to say, every one censors and edits.  Even those who follow the cult of so called  free speech.  Slight correction.  They have it set up weirdly.  No one actually can post directly.  She still is clearing shit, submission by submission.  Anyway . . . 

Anyway.  She has this bad habit of directing lots and lots of hate on Michelle Goldberg.  She is one of my favorite writers and, bias alert, on my FB friends list.  So I don't like the fact Althouse allows her racist Republican haters to hate on her.

Goldberg doesn't deserve it.  And Althouse should know better than to post or allow to remain  on her blog some one hating on Goldberg saying she is isn't Jewish, even if the commenter claims to be Jewish.

That is flat out anti Semitism no matter who says it, particularly when some one else publishes it.

She Gone and Done It! Excellent!

 That blogger I refer to, but rarely actually name, Ann Althouse,  gone and done it!  She killed off her comment section.  Glory be!  

My main, general criticism of her was she was providing a safe space for a bunch of obviously racist shit bags.  It is one thing to believe in the cult of so called free speech.  Which I do not.  Because people basically suck, I am not all that interested in other's opinions, and the older I get the less time I have for repetitive hate speech. But it is another thing entirely to host racist bullshit; to enable the publication and exhibition of that kind of racist bullshit.

And her cluster of racist fuckbois is so revolting.  How revolting?  That the last time she posted something touching on Critical Race Theory, the gang got whipped up into  a veritable lynch mob frenzy.  I imagine she would have deleted someone posting about actual violence against black and brown people.  But one of the comments that stuck in my head was the one about how the commenter was sick of hearing black and brown folk complain about racism.  And that is textbook racism.  That is a classic white supremacy and white privilege sandwich, with  a generous dollop of hate sauce.  

Shit like that was common, in her comments sections.  Flat out racist bullshit.  To her credit, however, in that instance, she did try to neutrally explain what the theory actually is, as opposed to how it is scandalized and mis described  by GOP politicians and political hacks.  And some of her rabid guests set about harassing her for daring not to toe the line of GOP racist hate for anything that is seen as a threat to white racist rule in America.  So she was only getting the love from the lynch mob when she was seen to be close enough in line with them.  

And she says it was getting to her, to keep up cleaning up the even worst of the trollish posts there.  So she might not miss it that much. But but but . . . If I had to guess, she well enjoyed being Queen Bee, even if it was only of a hive of hate and racist bullshit.  And I suspect she deliberately shit stirred with her posts, time to time, to get the bois excited.  

So ya know?  I am going to give it one month before she returns to some sort of allowance of group participation.  As opposed to me, who is used to having almost no one comment here.  She was used to a raucous even if inconsistently adoring throng.  We will see how it goes, ends, flows.  Who knows?

White Pickaninny

 It has been some time, since I was a trend setter;  ahead of the curve.  Like four weeks, maybe?  

Anyway, I propose we dump the word "Karen," at least for the trashy, right wing, entitled skanks  who are at least racist adjacent, if not flaming racist, and instead call them, "White Pickaninnies."

I like this, and think it is fitting for several reasons.  Firstly, because I love the idea of taking a racist slur whites have used against blacks, and repurposing it against white racists. And secondly, because the term pickaninny historically brings to mind an exaggerated image.  As originally employed, in some instances, as there is a difference when young black children were called pickaninnies, as opposed to the caricatures found in print and other media, white racist Karens are actual living, breathing caricatures.  They are grotesques of their own making and choosing.  

I have been thinking about this topic, racist Karens, as I am feeling the weight of 21st Century Denialist Racism.  All them bitches who deny America is still racist?  All them bitches still fighting against CRT and 1619 Project, and who basically want to preserve white supremacy?  Fuck them!  Particularly fuck the ones in denial of their own flaming racist thoughts, beliefs, and words.  

I know enough about Psychology to know that people can be really good at denial.  But I am fucking sick of it.  I am fucking sick of being a Black/Brown in America, and being expected to treat, if only slightly, watered down racism as if it were a mere different POV.

I am so sick of that shit!

I can't stop white racist people who do not appreciate how racist they are, from thinking and expressing what are flat out racist ideas.  I can't even get them to consider that they make themselves look totally flaming racist, when ever they speak about anything having to do with black or brown folk.

Then again, hardly anyone sees my blog.  But me, I, yours truly is not the real point.  As because there is so much published advice of the same meaning out there, be it in long form non fiction book, essays, articles, videos and interview segments  on TV that there is no excuse.  There literally is no rational excuse at all, at least, why these white racist people who do not appreciate how racist they are, and that they make themselves look totally flaming racist, when ever they speak about anything having to do with black or brown folk.

Well there is Dunning-Kruger.  But Dunning-Kruger is a perfectly rational theory that explains totally irrational thinking.

So comes the real question.  How many of them are merely pretending not to appreciate how racist they are?

It Bears Saying, Repeating . . .

I don't suppose I know for sure what will work to end white on not white racism in America, although I know some writers like the late Derrick Bell had some good ideas.

But I am sure about what is necessary for it to end.  The social and other measures' value of being white must be reduced to zero.  And the vast majority of white folk are going to have to be ok with that.  But as long as either or both are not the case?  America will continue to be a fundamentally, if often subtly racist society.

For the record, I know I am not the first person to publish such a thought.  But it is Black History Month.  And I always am consuming a stream of white Republican racist bullshit, no matter the month.  And I want this shit to end.

Not Disgusted, but Disappointed

Anyway, it seems  the racist trash who comment on her board were giving her racist shit for drawing the line for using the word nigger.  And related matters.  And a looney tunes tangent about the word elite, which should never be considered a pejorative, IMO.  And yea.  I just pulled out my "I'm Black so fuck you, I get to use the word,"  card.  And honestly, I rarely use the word.  But getting back on topic.

Not so much only on her, but I say the following to every person who thinks that drawing the line on that word is the moral high ground, if not the front lines of the fight against racist bullshit.  I am not sorry to inform her, or anyone else who thinks racism begins and ends on which side of the use of that word you are on.  That is not the line.  That clearly is not the front line.  That is miles behind the front lines.  That is the Champs-Élysées, in the early days of WWI, when men in Paris jumped into taxis and direct the drivers to take them to the front line.

Don't get me wrong.  I prefer people to plant their flag miles behind the front line than not plant it anywhere.  Or alternatively, like far too many of her racist hive, march under the Trump flag, the traitors' Confederate Jack, or the suspiciously Nazi Navy like Kekistan flag.  But Ann Althouse has too many race bases problems.  One is her own flaming ignorance.  And the other is her running a racist hive, of racist scum and villainy, where racist scum are free to say flat out racist bullshit like how they are tired of black people complaining.  And other rancid shit  I am not going to bother to go copy paste.

She is too affectionate of people (and by too much I mean at all) who would not pass even a circa 1977 are you a racist, test.  Never mind the stricter standards the CRT 2.0 camp are trying to shift the nation over to.

This is Megyn Kelly. By national standards, she is a pretty woman. She works on 6th Avenue as do I, in NYC. 5 blocks away from me. So take me at my word please when I say based on 6th Avenue Mid Town standards. She is only slightly above average. After all, that is the edge of the Fashion District. There are actual bars actually full of actual fashion models a few blocks from where she works.

Never mind the tokenism for now.  It's the fact that Althouse is pulling a passive aggressive  Breitbart rape on the camerawoman, that is repulsive.  She has even less excuse for impugning that person's character  (since her statement about the incident is widely reported, and backed up by RNC officials) than Breitbart did, for attacking Shirley Sherrod.  Maybe Althouse  is operating under the same theory that Breitbart did.  I distinctly remember him admitting that the exact details around the Sherrod incident were not the point, as much as his desire to achieve a hack goal  --  in his case damaging  dems  however possible.  I think Althouse's twisted goal is to boost the image of the GOP regarding race, and as well engage in some push-back against those of us who are always  calling out those racist wing nuts when ever they give cause for that.   And in doing so she attacks the character of an innocent victim.  Of GOP whites  on black racism.  Disturbingly ironically.

I honstly still do not think she herself is a racist.  Ignorant, as in mind blowingly (for someone where she is from, and what socioeconomic class and profession she is in, in America) ignorant about race.  Totally lacking the merest of a clue. 

Sht.  At least that  evil grinning idiot Newton knows he's doing the work of evil.  Like this Sunday, on MTP, where he got a pass on calling the VP of the US a racist.  Yes.  I have been thinking about posting about that since I heard that shit, yesterday morning.  And that reminds me of something I read  (or a vid I saw) a couple weeks ago.  The idea was that MSM really is not properly equipped  (or of appropriate adversarial mind) to engage the GOP on their pathological, practiced lies, and as well their race baiting.  Save a few, like Chris Matthews, Melissa Harris Perry, Toure, Rachel Maddow.  Laurence O'Donnell.  Most won't drill down.  Some might go in for the first question  and a follow up.  But way too few go to war on that shit.

PS. if the GOP were as diligent about policing the racist trash out of their ranks, as most of them seemed to be regarding Rep. Akin and his ignorant thoughts and beliefs about human anti rape countermeasures being build into female bodies, the GOP might not be stuck with the label of America's Racist and Racist Loving Party. But they don't. So they are stuck with the label and reputation they so richly deserve. Seems to me.

But Ann Althouse.  It is a free country.  And you are free to spend as much time and space on your blog  dedicated to the cause of defending people who routine do and say outrageous, sickening racist shit, from those of us who call out those fuckers  whenever there is cause.  That's the way it works.  Choose your side wisely, and if you can live with yourself, then that is that. Personally, I am very happy being in the Legion of the Anti-Racists.  Maybe you are as happy with your choice;  being on the side of the Anti-Anti-Racists.

Memo To the Enemies of Anti Racism. Ann Althouse, Rush Limbaugh. All Them Bad Right Wing Leaning People.

Ok.  So I was replying to a sarcastic joke somewhere (Facebook.)  And the joke was riffing off the theme of fake race card playing, as practiced, mostly, by wing nuts, and like minded people.  You know who I mean;  the defenders of the poor oppressed white people who are too fucking stupid to not get it, that every time someone mentions  their whiteness  is not racism.  Racism is about dehumanizing people.  Not merely describing them.

And I came up with  a nice little reply to the joke:

  Some words and phrases are mostly just what they obviously mean. Some have powerful secondary meanings. Some have insult value way beyond the literal or ever metaphorical. But "elderly white guy" does have a secondary meaning: "The Ruling Class." Less of an insult, that, than an indictment. (My metaphor.)

 

It should not be a surprise that someone like a Rush Limbaugh, who makes his career  not only communicating, but communicating ripe, foul, fetid  bullshit should ignore the meanings of words. He's not trying to disseminate truth.  He's selling ideology.   As well, there is no surprise such a person, such a professional bullshitter,   will ignore the dimensions  of words;  how they are used. 

But in the case of  race matters, the Rush Limbaugh's of the world  are racists, and they do have an agenda.  And then  there are others, like Ann Althouse  --  them who's crime mostly is that they are totally without a clue, regarding matters of race.  Both are dangerous to society.  Well, by that I mean both kinds of people are very dangerous to a Nation where racial issues still, to a great level,  control real world distribution of wealth and power in this country, and how fully some citizens  get to enjoy their human and American rights.

Just saying.  Shit like that must be pointed out, and mocked for the ignorance it is, as done by and in they way of the Althouse types.    Beyond that, it should be harshly criticized as evil, as when done by the Limbaugh types, when done deliberately for a desired  racist  (or racist friendly) effect.

Now I have been arguing that this was where the GOP racists were going.  I have argued it against people employing the tactic.  I have raged against it here.  And he is not alone is selling this  stinky racist itself line of thinking  --  if you point out my racism, your are the racist.  A certain elderly Law Professor Blogger  was singing the same ignorant shit-song regarding specifically  regarding the infamous  Romney birther joke.  I broke my almost sorta pledged to stop mentioning Althouse, but that ignorant shit was like waving a red cape in front of me.

But now Rush goes on a rant.  Here it comes.  The signal has been sent.  From here on out until election day  (and if Obama wins, there after for the next four years) we are going to have motherfuckers like Limbaugh going more on the attack with patently, obviously racist shit, and their stock reply will be,   if you point out my racism, your are the racist.  Except they won't admit to the racism part. 

I said it was going to get really really bad kids.  And we are way past that point.  The GOP does not care if they have to rely not only on every racist trick in the book to try to steal this election.  They might invent some new racist shit too.  At least innovate with their racism.



PS.  Since I did go and mention Althouse again, I will correct another ignorant thing she said.  Se was remaking about how some people say or imply that Romney is not human or human enough.  And in the form of a question, she implied that that kind of thinking was racist.

No, ignorant elderly lady. The correct term would be speciesist.  Well it would be, if anyone were stupid enough not to know a metaphor from a declaration or inference of fact.  As a metaphor it's about as common as dirt, as far as being something wide spread across the planet for eons, goes.

First things first. I am at the same time disheartend and pleased that Romney has gone birther, as that makes the charge of racist, just that much more obvious. But this is where we are. And the convention is yet to come. Anyway . . ...

If the Fat Man is correct, the GOP will, by the end of this campaign, merit creation of a whole new deeper level of Hell just for them. Well them, fascists, and other sworn enemies of humanity. 20th Century had to have been a growth time for Hell. They can't take in millions more in a mere few decades, with out expanding. But the GOP alone is going to be adding millions to the ranks based on the election season alone. ( I really don't believe in Hell. This is an extended metaphor!)

Romney has gone birther and the shit for brains ranks will likely follow. I'm betting the pundits, pols and minions at Fox Not News are in. Or will be. Shortly. And I mean them who were not in to begin with.
