No Mas! He Has Gone From Accidentally Funny, To Pathetic.

 Many American Blacks, and people who have visited Black homes going back as far as the late 1960s, have seen some version of this image.  I will get to that in a minute.

But first, I am trying to be done with Glenn Loury.  I have had periods of time, over the past 10 or more years when I had him on mental ignore.  But he served as a passing adequate source of old school conservative talking points, and yes.  He was frequently accidentally funny when he went all white supremacist.  Defender and or enabler.  I would get bored of his shit.  I would take a break, and come back to his internet channel later, to see what he was up to.

For those of you who know, he was something like Uncle Ruckus, without being in denial about being black.   My opinion  (and assume everything here I say about him is just and only my idiotic opinion.)  But this time the trigger is so perverse, that I have switched the controls on YT to stop notifying me of Loury's latest shit posts.

Now to the reason why, and why the image. above.  Now Loury has a bad habit of getting histrionic, I would say even manic, at times, over his mental processes.  Not over reality.  Over the shit his mind processes.  Sure, he says nutzo shit like how he gets angry about his (Black) people.  But as far as I can tell, he gets angry at his (Black) people for not living the way "he just knows" they should be acting and living.  That is all in his own fucking head!  He is seemingly upset people are not doing what he wants them to do!  The distress is all him as . . .  wait for it . . .  a sane, rational person should not have that much trouble understanding that nobody gotta live their lives the way that one other person thinks they should.  

Granted, that is the core of contemporary GOP thought.  And dysfunction, And why they are evil.  But hey.  My default is, "You do you boo.  As long as you aren't actually hurting any other live human person."  So I take people who want to control other people as flat-out evil, because, that is what evil is.  Fucking with people's universal rights, and shit. But I digress.

Now to the picture,  Loury's last meltdown, observed by me this week.  He constructed in his own chemically damaged (by crack) brain, this nightmare fantasy (for him,) where the old MLK and Dead Kennedy's triple portrait was replaced by one where Kamala Harris was center, and MLK and Obama were flanking.  And he threw a fit, had a pretty damn near hysterical fit, over something he merely thought could happen.  Something which at that point in time, only seemed to exist in his chemically damaged (by crack) brain.  And it was such a fucking trivial thing!  That the mere thought of that imagined, trivial picture leading to emotional distress in someone, is to me, not a psychologist,  evidence of a seriously disturbed mind.

I am not going to tell his buddy, John McWhorter, what to do.  But if I had a friend who was having meltdowns over hypothetical, trivial wall hangings?  I would suggest they get some counseling.  And I would counsel them,  fucking don't post that vid.  McWhorter was in the vid.  He could have withdrawn consent for it to be published,

A new book that shows you are white supremacist enablers.  With that shit you say, when you say that stupid assed shit about the superiority of so called Western Culture.  All you really need to know is:

Sad part of this is excepting unless one grew up an an extremely backward part of America, in the 50s though now.  You should have learned the core facts about this, by end of 9th grade.  Even if American text books tend to be biased.  

New Book on Myth of So Called Western Civilization

So Queen Bey released some Country songs from her new, unreleased album.

Rhiannon Giddens is featured on one of the tracks, playing some banjo.  I discovered her more than a year ago.  And now, some white supremacists are complaining that Blacks are taking Country from them.

Well, that really ain't true.  It might be an overstatement of fact to say they stole if from us, first.  But just like most "American" music. If it were not ours, Black folks' music, singularly, first, it was built on stuff that was first, ours.

I am tagging John McWhorter, because he is the Black man so stupid he runs around saying "Western Culture" is the best.  But that Black man does not mean, far as I know, because it is greatly stolen from other, not white European folk.  And I am tagging the OWL because even if she hasn't mentioned this "story" yet on her blog.  If and when she does, she will either say something so ignorant about Black  folk I will want to lump her in with certain, unsavory and ignorant (regarding not white folk,)  white Americans.  Or she will do that odious thing, given the number of unsavory and ignorant (regarding not white folk,)  white Americans who comment on her blog.  She will post something about the white supremacist driven fake controversy, without real comment, and let the white supremacist trash spew any kind of anti Black white supremacist trash they like in the comments section, short of using the En word.  As if use of the En word is singularly the signifier one is white supremacist?

Word Wars: Wokeism and the Battle Over Language

McWhorter makes the most sense when he sticks to his field of expertise:  words.  This is not to say he never ever, for a moment makes a tiny bit of sense on the social commentary.  I am just pointing out the spectrum.  The relationship between actual knowledge and making objective sense of shit, vs mere belief, and getting shit wrong.

Re his continuing use of the word religion for the anti racist woke thing.  He almost admits his obvious error  here.   He riffs on the good an bad aspects of religion, broadly.  But he fails to make the full on distinction.  And I will just say what he should say instead of what he has been saying:

"When I say it's a religion, I mean it's like the bad parts of religion, but not the good parts.  In other words, its like when people behave badly, having no connection to religion at all."

That is my explanation for what he gets wrong.  And that leads into my next point.  Re his social commentary  (I will not say political, as he really doesn't swim in that shit as much as the social shit.)

Now granted.  If I ever had the chance to speak to him there is a good chance I would rudely dismiss him by saying either you hurt my pretty brain, or that you are not smart enough to waste my time.  But if I were not in a rude mood, I might engage, and say something  . . . . ask something like:

Do you believe your social commentary will be considered worth reading in 50 years, and if not, what do you think will be the reason it is found so lacking?

I can be the master of passive aggressive.  However, as stubborn he is about what he believes, he actually is capable of not only cognition, but self analysis.  Even if the latter is far from his default.  And he might come up with an answer so interesting, I might say, hmmm, that is interesting.

Moving on.  Funny how the Ivy league professor can trash talk his elite, elect peer class, but get all softhearted when a professor gets dogpiled for saying stupid shit on twitter.  But he is a member of that peer class.  But I will admit,  I have some agreement with the idea every single bad tweet should not end a career.   I say it depends on exactly what the tweet was!

Last hit of the day.  A linguist should be more precise with words.  We live in a day and age where the psychopathic leader of one of the world's greatest powers has people literally thrown out of windows.  Don't equate being dogpiled on twitter to that! Actual living people are being made dead that way!

It's as Insane as Believing in The Lizard People.

Believing that there actually is a thing called western culture, never mind believing it is superior.

First, the quickies:

This is why as of today, I am saying belief in the superiority of western culture is as insane as believing in lizard people.  The evidence that so called western culture is Eastern, Middle Eastern, North African culture in origin, is incontrovertible.  Particularly if you are a middle aged or older adult who has spent your career in academia.  And have been surrounded by this evidence on a daily basis.  For years and decades.   And that leads to my point about how I hope to never be in a room with either Professors Loury or McWhorter.  Because both have made public allegiance to the mythical lie that so called western culture is superior to others.  As crazy as believing in lizard people!

Granted, just because of where I live, I am more likely to run into McWhorter.  But I should avoid talking to him because I think that anyone, never mind a Black, who believes western culture is superior to others is too fucking stupid a person for me to waste a minute talking too.  And in my free time I have actually war gamed it out.  Basically, but for perhaps some relatively obscure facts about the Muslim Caliphate in Iberia?  I would not tell any professor any thing they have not already been exposed to.  So why should I waste my time if given the chance to waste my time thusly?

It's like the experts say.  It is a waste of time to try to educate someone who has given into some conspiracy theory.  That is why I am making the link to lizard people believers.  It's the same kind of  emotionally stubborn stupidity, but for a different untrue belief.

I am less than obsessed but curious about Blacks who to my mind have an ugly and obvious case of  colonial victim Stockholm syndrome;  Over identifying with the so called western colonial oppressor's  so called culture. Granted.  The pressure is hard.  Assimilate!  Fit in!  Be more like a white TV family! But this is the 21st Century.  And we do have the internet.  There a many videos and essays on line explaining human civilization and history.  There really is no excuse not to get the basics about how so called civilization did not spring out of western Europe.  It was brought there!

But I would like a better term than colonial victim Stockholm syndrome.

Did not find any candidates.  So until I or anyone else comes up with better?  Colonial victim Stockholm syndrome.   Oh.  But I am a Star Trek fan.  And there is the evil species that assimilates others, and makes them into drones.  Yeah.  Drone works.  But I doubt it will go viral. But I have tried before.  I have some friends with bigger platforms  and audiences.  And I can always comment  on big media sites.

Anti Trans Prejudice and Bigotry is Fucking Lame. Don't do it!

I can't be sure, as who can be sure about shit on the internet?  But it seems that following their video featuring bigoted and prejudiced anti trans bile being taken down from YT?  The professors disabled the comment section on the blogging heads page re that session.   I don't know if this is temporary.  I suspect professor Loury is at least angry on being censored.  I hope he does realize he crossed the line into bigoted and prejudiced content.

Unfortunately we are in one of those moments in American life and times, when some of the Republicans are digging in on some old fashioned bigoted and prejudiced views.  It's a shame that the father of a gay son has that much trouble giving people slack to be who they are, even when it seems to go against the usual ways.  But that is the problem, as I got into on my FB today.  In short, nature/biology does not work in only a binary way.  It throws up and out variations. It is the ultimate diversity generator.  You don't have to like it, but to deny that is just motherfuckingly ignorant.

Anyway, below find what I tried to post, particularly following the prejudiced and bigoted comments about the video being pulled, and the trans related issues, from the usual suspects over there on Loury's channel.  But the current "conditions" would not let me:

 Just because you deeply and truly believe a thing, does not mean it is not prejudiced or bigoted. Oddly enough or not, that might make it more likely to be a prejudiced or bigoted thought.

My guess is the vid was taken down on account that some of the opinions expressed were found to be prejudiced, and or bigoted against trans people. Disagree with that all you like. But I am operating out of the text book definitions. Ironically humorously, the portion of the session that is still up on YT features the tag line, "Your feelings are not facts." I suggest those are words to live by, professors.

Get Off My Lawnism is Fucking Lame. Just Fucking Stop it!

 So earlier this week I went off my discipline and remarked on some vid featuring both Glenn Loury and John McWhorter.  Now the "notes" I chose to give them are not the point.  However, I am going to call them both out here for the same lame, cognitive and behavioral error.

Both are essentially cranky old men.  Now you don't have to be actually old, to act like a cranky old man.  Decades ago, I remember reading some piece about the young fogeys.  The idea was that young Republicans, in adapting the beliefs and mannerisms of their elder Republicans, essentially became cranky old folk.

And I could go long, but I will try to be brief.  No matter your age, when your way of engaging with the world is to complain about people who don't live their lives as you want them to?

You have become a cranky old man, woman, person, shit.

I have to note that people are free to be a cranky old man, woman, person, shit.  But fucking no one generally loves them.  As soon as a crank starts a crank that people disagree with, the odiousness of the cranky person is obvious.  But if they crank on something agreed with and or about?  They are tolerable.  Until they say something not on the other party's crank worthy list.

I am reminded of the old George Carlin joke about how anyone driving slower than you is a fucking asshole  but anyone who drives faster than you is fucking crazy.  It's that kind of dynamic.

Anyway.  Feel free to be a cranky shit if that is you doing you.  But understand the dynamic.  And that means most people will find you tiresome and well dull, most of the time.  Because that is what cranky shits are.

Anyway,  This is the first I heard about the cock blocking.  If true how  . . .   corny!  But seriously.  I don't know much about women but for they like what and who they like for what ever static or dynamic reasons, on a one by one basis.

This Coming From a Man, Who Wrote a Book Reverse Demonizing His Enemies . . .

And by reverse, I mean wrote a book titled "Woke Racism."  Using "religion" as a pejorative" Tsk,  tsk!

To explain, McWhorter has a years long anmosity with the new wave, current Civil Rights thinkers and leaders.  As that is what 'anti racism' is. It's the same essential wine, but different vintage.  None of that shit is new.  I was thinking the same shit, back in the 70s!

And I am about to do here, something I really disfavor;  criticising a piece with out really reading it.  However, I am being very narrow here.  I can't access the full thing.  So I am sticking to this quote, and McWhorter's personal history.  I will stop short of calling him  a hypocrite.  But if he ever were to read this, I would suggest he listen to MJ's "Man in the Mirror," over and over, until he gets the meaning, and how it applies to him.

How to tell if someone else is a pseudo-intellectual?  They call them self an intellectual.  

And just in case someone wants to believe I am just being jealous?  My dream job is not their gigs.  My dream job is being a writer/crew on some TV show like SNL, any of the major network late shows.  Basically any show that uses current affairs as the inspiration and topic source, as long as the show is sufficiently liberal.  And shot here in the Greater NYC area.

Fuck living anywhere else.  Unless and until I need to flee the country.  Which might be the case come 2025.  I have all but given up on America.  But that is a topic for another post.

In my rush to call bullshit on these two 'knuckleheads', I forgot what I just heard Briahna Joy Gray say, over the past couple weeks.  Ivy's "pad" their "diversity" admissions  with foreign born students who usually are from the upper crust of their countries, but just have more melanin than the usual Prep School brats.  There is data that backs this up!  So just about everything these knuckleheads' assert in the vid is bullshit.

Really strange shit going on here.  Do both professors have no fucking idea how either admissions works, generally, or how bell curves work?

I worked in my law school's admission office during my first year.  I became well versed wit the conversion book.  Because a 3.7 GPA from Dartmouth is not the same as a 3.7 GPA from Ball State.  Just saying. And as far as bell curve theory goes?  Kids trying to get into undergrad programs from the 10%  in top 10% schools are more in common than not.  That means the kids  in the 99%tile are not really all that smarter than those in the 90th to 98%tiles.  That is the bell curve part.  Correct me if you got evidence to the contrary.

Kids from the mid never mind bottom of high schools are not coasting into Brown or Columbia.  I dare either professor to check the stats at the schools they work at.  Fuck the anecdotal "evidence."  Go to the admissions department, and if they are not very likely to just spit out the data, makes friends with a work study student.  They know!

When in HS, I did ask for a few Ivy league packets.  Did not even bother to waste my money on the fee.  I did not see myself getting over the other black kids with solid A averages, who likely would be applying, too.  

Thousands of them.  So I am calling bullshit on both professors.  You don't even have to pull out a calculator.  Just think about the context and likely numbers form an objective POV.  Just fucking ignore the fucking white supremacist narrative!

Just another instance of people who should fucking know better than to spit out anecdotal "evidence"  and what people assume is the truth,  who should have done the research before they talk about shit in public.

Why Fucking Law Professor Amy Wax's Fucking Remarks About Fucking Cultural Superiority

fall within the Federal definition of racial discrimination.  And why it is perfectly appropriate to call her and anyone who agrees with her, a white supremacist, or enabler.

Ok.  So I thought about this song in mind of John McWhorter.  He seems to lack enough of an ability for self reflection, as he repeatedly self owns himself.  Such as what I mentioned in my last post.  In it he describes a certain kind of selling out, where he in theory could go out there performing some kind of complaining against his rhetorical antagonists, act.  And in doing so, choosing some kind of cheap, lazy way to make money, and get the acclaim that being that person can get.  And he says he will never do.  

Which I find to be totally lacking in any self awareness, as he is now more famous, perhaps even overexposed in the media, for his book which is a hit job against his rhetorical antagonists.  Which is less mind blowingly weird, as it is typical for  a

But since Loury is the one who is aligned with the forces of evil, and by that I mean conservativism and all its horrors and degradations?  He needs to listen to the song too, until he gets it.  That he is not only not part of the solution, but he is a side show barker for the problem.  

The way shit gets done in human society has historically been horrible and evil.  And you believe in maintaining the status quo as default?  The word for that is evil!

Like my title says, I am amazed they think they smart. I am not going to go all that much deeper on what Lory and McWhorter said in the full version of their last chat vid.  But I did finally watch all of that pro white supremacy  (that was on Loury, mostly) vid.  They both think they are some kind of thinkers.  My reply to that is:

As far as Althouse goes.  I would say she is a very shallow thinker.  She see the surface of something.  Naturally through her own filters.  And I am not saying they are consistently the same, or as locked in, partisan hackish, as a garden variety GOPer. But we all have our own biases.  But one really is not  a thinker unless one can see past their own biases, and go deeper.

Glenn Loury Sympathizes With Amy Wax's Immigration White Supremacist Bullshit.

At least in this vid.  But you don't get to play devil's advocate unless you claim to. So I will assume he means to say what he says.  That is ever the default.

Hitler loved the white supremacist American immigration laws so much he referred to them with admiration in Mein Kampf.  I say that mainly to show how  white supremacist American Immigration laws have always been.  Loury is operating, seemingly, under the delusion people can just ignore that history and reality, and just talk about protecting the border.  Insane!

I mean yeah.  He not only avoided the overt kind of white supremacist vitriol an out of the closet white supremacist would use.  And he even avoided the not even believably much less white supremacist bullshit Amy Wax uses;  the culture argument, flat out, at least.
