 We had the disgusting news about emotionally and likely biochemically unwell Sec of Defense wanting to do this, last week, to a not white man. By way of a firing squad instead of rope and tree.  But a lynching is a lynching no matter the method of killing.

 And we start this week with ICE raiding the home of a Black Democratic Congresswoman.

And so many mother fucking Republicans want to believe Jim Crow is a relic of the past?

Even if that were the case, and it isn't.  It's at best the too near past.  But Ok.  It's not as prevalent as it was 100 years ago.

It's still part of life in America.  Anyone who disagrees can just choke on their own tongue, for all I care.

For years I have called the Owl racist adjacent

Because commenters on her blog routinely throw up white supremancist, right wing shit like the following.  And she leaves it up.  The quote is so replllant it seems worse than what Hasan Piker was criticized over, and on a par with the white supremacist, hateful shit, that chud Laura Loomer recently said.

So before I even quote it, I 100% denounce it as hate speech:

I can go months without looking at her blog.  I can go longer without looking at her comment sections  because, she routinely leaves up, the white supremacist, hateful shit her white supremacist commenters put up.

I don't know how many people still look there.  Seems to me blogging is dead.  Long live Substack.  I guess???

Oh.  While I am bothering to be bothered. The initial post had to do with white supremacist, hateful shitbag JD Vance.  (I don't care who is making his children.  Racist plantation owners made bi-racial babies, while still being racists.)  Apparently, candidate Dr. El-Sayed made a very strong inference that  white supremacist, hateful shitbag JD Vance's grandparents might not approve of his East Indian wife, and bi-racial children.  And  white supremacist, hateful shitbag JD Vance's reply was, of all frames:  

'Keep my wife's name the hell out of your mouth'

Funny, how the white man goes all in with the Black vernacular, trying to sound tough.  But more hilarious is the idiotic rhetorical trick he is attempting to play.  The quote was more about the assumed racist grandparents, than the wife.  This is the same sort of idiotic rhetorical trick the maggots used over the quote about adjudicated rapist in a civil trial, djt, and his likely wanting to tap his young pretty assistant's ass, than was about his assistant and her desires.  Who is certifiable insane.  For all we know, she might have fantasies about having her ass tapped by the fat racist with, allegely, a tiny mushroom.

I can't go any further with the image.  

Point is, using the object of the sentence as if it were the  subject.  Just to go all Karen on someone's ass  and complain.  Are any of these fuckers fluent in English?

 

White People, Who Are Not Anti-Racists, Need to Shut Up About Racism.

Anyway.  Instead of doing her frequent shit stirring kind of post.  Where she throws up links and or quotes, but doesn't comment.  She dove in on the non-traversey about the new Asian music category for the Grammys.   Her remarks:

My remarks to that.  I object to that bizarre, binary framing.  It clearly could be argued more ways than that.  Nuanced ways.  In fairness to her,  that is not her only remarks.  Let me look at that again before I say more.  Ok.  She says a little more, and quotes form her source article.  This is the more useful quote:

 "Pop music in America is an extension of whiteness and works just like it — it has no defined borders; it expands and contracts to maintain its dominion; it tells us that nothing too ethnic can have universal appeal."

Time for terminology  boys and girls.  

Hegemony refers to the dominance of one group over another, supported by legitimating norms and ideas.

Here in the USA  in the year 2026, white people still dominate the culture.  Despite how much other ethnic groups have influenced the culture.  The market is still greatly white folk.  And the businesses tend to be run by white folk.  It's not as full a hegemony as it was 125 years ago.  But white folk is still is the main market and management.

The dominant strains of the Entertainment world do not exceed the population. Entertainment is an industry.  People are trying to make bank!

I want to segue to that racist piece of shit Rep. Brandon Gill.  Who was lionized by other GOP racists for the shit he pulled at a hearing within the past couple weeks.  Trying to tee up a white supremacy culture war gotcha.  He asked some witness from the other side whether or not Mickey Mouse is racist?

I could go long.  I have that degree in Theatre and my first career was in media/entertainment.  And I know my American history.  So If it were me in the witness seat, I could have answered:  

"Well.  The original Mickey Mouse animated short, "Steamboat Willie,"  was released in the late 1920s. An extremely racist time in America.  And to be blunt.  All of American popular entertainment, back then, was tainted by racism.  And Mr. Congressman.  I could give a one hour lecture, or more,  about all that right now.  But that would go much farther than your time."

Yes.  And as a sidebar.  Current or former litigators are or at least can be demonic on the witness stand.  We know the goal is to knock the cross examiner off their stride.  You don't have to defeat them.  It's more effective to avoid arguing with them than get combative.  Just deprive them of their flow.

Anyway, entertainment follows the culture.  However.  And I did not look at the original article yet.  But I know a little something about the music biz.  There is ample history of artists "charting" in multiple categories for the same song/record/album.  And I think some have even won Grammys like that too.  Missing from the Owl's remarks if not also the article she quotes, is the idea of being a "crossover artist."

So maybe some people who don't know shit about issues of race in society should not fucking talk about that.  Likewise, if you don't know shit how the music biz works.

Lemme do a quick search.

So the internet tells me it has happened.  At least one song won in both Pop and R&B the same year.  Shit I am overthinking it.   Bad Bunny won in two categories for the same album this past round.  The top honor for "Album of the Year," and "Best Musica Urbana."  So yeah.  Despite the history of flat out racism in entertainment.  Things are much different now than 100 or more years ago.  If someone has their mind set to be a dick about it.  And doesn't know dick about the context, and or fails to do the basic research you might think Grammy categories are exclusive.  That is simple minded thinking.

As a whole.  the system is more like a potential of Venn Diagrams.  I won't get into how to get specific nominations for specific categories.  But hey.  It's possible to crossover.  You can win in a meta category and a niche.  Go for it!

A Rare Moment of Praise for The Owl, (but zeroed out.)

 I respect what she said about that racist movie, made by racists, called, "Am I Racist?"

They are racists because, only a racist would think it would be a good idea to make a movie making fun of racism.  To start a project to belittle anti racism, is to support actual racism, actually.  Sometimes life is that simple!  Sure, they would say they were going after some hustlers  and well meaning but wrong minded people who just happen to see racism everywhere  (it is, actually.  Said broadly without going on a tangent.)

So I criticize her for putting money in those racist's pockets!  Bad Owl.  Very bad!

So the financial support for the project cancels out any props for her take on it.

Confession.   I am someone who was talking about the need for antiracism, more than three decades ago.  I do not appreciate the mission of attacking DEI and all of the anti racist endeavors.  Some people might think I am being unfair in calling the idea and motivation behind this movie to have been and remains,  mostly to "publish" racist propaganda.  But there is more to it than that.  They are making some money on it.  Come to think of it.  This is the major takeaway from the project.

On group of grifters set out to "expose" another alleged group of alleged grifters. 

But the targets are in it at least partly, if not greatly, for a higher purpose.  After all.  If the anti racists succeed.  Then they are going to have to find something else to do.  But the actual efforts by the people behind this project show, there still are way the fuck too many racists in America.  Accuse them of being in it for the money all ya like.  But the anti racists are not going to run out of racism to fight, any time soon.

So the movie ultimately proves the need for anti racists.

There are now two vid versions of the conversation.  Newer one has a different and less flat out odious title.  And I believe is shorter.  I did now watch either one for long, because of the Black on Black crime.  Sorta.

Later, when she was doing Two Dope Queens, she dropped the line in one of tbe commercials for that series.  That time it was clearly for shits and grins.

I have decided that it is the perfect judgement for the vicious and insulting way Black Republicans, the very much outliers of the American Black population, judge the rest of us.  And specifically target some of us.

But that observation leads me to the macro level.  All the defenses of the  . . .  as I call him, Subway Strangler are facile:

You don't need some bullshit animal reference to be superficial.  It just came to me.  Those of us of a certain age should remember the infamous bear in the woods ad that Reagan used.  Yeah.  Some people just love facile, uncomplicated thinking. I believe the word for them is conservatives.  Now I know the word facile applies to more people than politically conservative folk.  But they are well known for Manichean thinking.

I remember this Republican guy who I saw post on a message board, his justification for employing stereotypes:

"Saves time."

It's all related.  Black and white thinking.  Stereotypes.  And white supremacy.

Old White Lady Has an Emotional Breakdown. If She Acted Like This On A Subway

I am sure the old white lady would argue that her shit fit somehow was not really that ugly, and needing intervention.  And beside fucking up horribly on the law?  That is what is totally fucking wrong with her and anyone else defending the subway strangler.  Who the fuck is actually trained, and experienced, and certified enough to make the call between not so dangerous, and actually dangerous people having shit fits?  And let us be plain.  Cops are not well enough trained!

There has been this much needed debate following the George Floyd murder, about the blatantly insufficient training of  cops regarding people in emotional or otherwise mental distress.

I am a little better experienced but not trained, because I did family court for three years in Philly as a lawyer.  I am most sure about what I do not know, however, as opposed to being sure I can tell who is going to go harmful violent, instead of just obnoxiously loud and demanding attention crazy, verbally violent.

Oh.  Where she fucked up,  like One L  badly fucked up?  In the comment section of her post on this shit?  She sort of seemingly deliberately missed the obvious fact that wrapping your arm around someone's neck to subdue them is precisely the kind of risk of killing another activity that the manslaughter laws criminalize. Intent to kill is not an element. It is engaging in conduct where the risk of killing another is so great that as a society we say, collectively.  Don't do that shit.

Before I end this.  And as a lawyer I find it disturbingly humorous to read or hear non lawyer talk law.  I did go through a lot of her homicide loving fan boi's  and occasional girl's posts.  A lot of them seem to think this is a hard case for the prosecution.  Not really.  And a lot think that self defense defense of others is going to be the think that winds the day for the strangler. 
   

The crime is (let me get the correct language)

Under our law, a person is guilty of Manslaughter in the Second Degree when that person recklessly causes the death of another person. 

The following term used in that definition has a special meaning:

1 A person acts RECKLESSLY with respect to a death when that person 

engages in conduct which creates or contributes to a substantial and unjustifiable risk that another person's death will occur, 

and when he or she is aware of and consciously disregards that risk, 

and when that risk is of such nature and degree that disregard of it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of conduct that a reasonable person would observe in the situation.

And yes self defense is an affirmative defense.  That means the prosecution has to prove it wasn't.   I am not going to say that is going to be a slam dunk.  But.  I think the lack of evidence of a real imminent threat is going to be easy to show.

Oddly enough.  The Strangler would be better situated with that defense if he used a gun, not his arm. 

I can just imagine the potential witness for the prosecution describing how after the first minute or two that it is perfectly logical to believe the strangler knew he was killing the victim. So it shifts in theory to a matter of at what point did the self defense defense no longer apply and full responsibility for the unlawful taking of a life become the factual truth?  That is a winnable case for the prosecution.  

As soon as the victim stopped resisting?  And as soon as some on the subway car started saying he was killing the victim?  That is the point his conduct clearly became outlaw.  But far as I am concerned?  The Strangler's choice of strangulation as a means of subduing the victim was outlaw.  Out of several choices?  Kick him in the nuts?  Punch him in the face, or belly, or side of head?  He was a marine for crying out loud!  He was trained in various forms of physical violence. And he went with strangulation move?

Old White Lady Mis Quoting about White Supremacy Part Deux. Her White Trash Commentors Comment.

 

The above sentiment well represents some of the truly insane, white supremacist shit following  her post about the non white white supremacist phenomenon, Firstly,  I think a lot of her shit headed trailer trash fan bois do not even bother to read the linked, triggering articles.  They just spew their bigotry and biases  because . . . . reasons.  And opportunity, I suppose.  Anyway,  I find it disturbingly humorous that the reply to a post based on an article where the author makes clear that white supremacists use the idea western culture as a really inadequate cover for their white supremacist beliefs, just reaffirms that shit.  And the fucking moron misses the fact.  But again, I bet the fucking moron did not read the article.

Maybe not this moron, but another moron misidentified the newspaper that carried the article as the Times.  Yet another made the argument that despite the clear and plain fact this most recent shooter  . . .  my words . . .  was out there doing Nazi cosplay . . .  was some how evidence he wasn't a Nazi?

Yet that was not the most incoherent comment.  At least one poster got it right.  He said the the evidence that the shooter my words . . .  was out there doing Nazi cosplay was actually evidence he was a Nazi.  So everyone there is not a complete moron.

 Misunderstood a crystal clear, easy to understand point, in an article about why some non totally  white people support white supremacy.

Why Non whites

Here is what the writer said:

Even if she employs a totally dishonest form of cutting up quotations to make her dishonest, actually, point, that is usually employed by the most scumbaggy of lawyers and judges to deliberately misstate the law?   I honestly think it is a tad more likely she doesn't fucking get it.  As I have said it before.  She seems to have such a little and such a terrible understanding of race issues, she would do herself a great favor never to talk about such things, ever the fuck again.

But it comes down to two alternatives.  Either she doesn't get what the writer is saying;  that being pro white supremacy is actually being being pro white supremacy, and fucking not what some of the fucking lying assed white supremacists claim, that they are only  and just supporting some mythical fictional thing called  "western civilization."   And I again quote him:  

a shorthand for whiteness."

Or she is herself part of that team and flavor of white supremacists who are in disguise about that fact, and badly.  Which to be clear, is I am hoping and giving her the benefit of the doubt, that she may not actually be a white supremacist.
