Good Definition for Evil

And it well explains why Conservatism, as an ideology, and ordinary Republican Party beliefs are flat out evil.  Even before we touch the Nazification of the party from maganazism.

Ann Althouse has a gay son, and is hosting if not promoting homophobia.

The sordid tale begins with her posing an article about Drag Queen story time, on her blog.  Which, for any of you totally out of the loop, is one of the current . . . hate on different people war, items, currently, waged by hate mongering, right wing fuck faced dicks.  Someone decided it was an easier target to hate on drag queens  than on gays generally.  So here we are, kids.

I am not going long, but will go with the visual form of argument.   Her first poster on her blog went ugly and it got mostly worse from there.

Oh.  Before the visual evidence.  I will display by printing my own views about drag, to show what is the right way to give voice to not liking drag.  I am not a fan of the entertainment.  But I would not protest against it, just as I would not protest against reality TV. Even if it was The Kardashians.

Second Best Line of Last Week, The Year Even.

It's an empty gesture. Like e-cards, or a formal apology after an anti Semitic rant."
-- Dave, to Alex. "Happy Endings."

Yes. Empty gestures fucking suck. And the more the insincere bastards repeat them, the more it feels like one is having their face ground into hot smelly horseshit.

Ya. That's the voice of experience talking there.

Particularly with e-cards. If that's the best you can do, don't even pretend to be my friend. Just fuck off.

It Was the Best of Times. It Was the Worst of Times.

The suicide by graft and crime of NewsCorp, starting with it's UK Print Ops, and perhaps leading to loss of the broadcast license in the USA (among best case scenarios) gladdens my heart. I would be full of the joy of seeing the universe correct itself, meting out justice to those who got it coming. However, the on going debt fight in DC still has me distressed and way angry.

Speaking of that, the news of the day is not Eric Cantor's dubious claims about an angry P. Obama storming out of a meeting (I would have been pleased about that if that was something I truly believed, by the way.) But it's the bit about how at least one GOP Senator is now thinking and saying out loud that the extortion scheme (my phrasing of it) tied to the debt limit fight might not have been such a good idea.

Bob Corker Has An Epiphany.

I do believe in giving credit where due. Now on to some criticism.

To some wingnut professor. Are you out of your fucking mind, pimping Cantor for VP? Here. Fighting the good fight? Are you out of your fucking mind? And this wingnut professor posts some audio of Cantor blabbing about the details of the negotiation as his evidence of Cantor fighting the good fight? Fuck a duck! The mere fact any of those evil bastids went along with this extortion plan is well . . . evil! (I know that wing nuts have trouble with facts, reality, and the fucking obvious. Using the issue of raising the debt limit as an extortion fulcrum to jack the White House into agreeing to things that they and the American People do not fucking want, is inherently evil, no matter how much people may believe in Reaganomics. And we all fucking know that fucking doesn't work. Sorry. Like I said above, this shit makes me angry.)

Now I have already highlighted someone at least on the path to good work, Sen. Corker, who is at least doubting, publicly, the extortion plan. Anyone in the GOP still thinking and playing that game as if it is not evil, is evil. Again. This shit is fucking obvious!

Let me find the door. I tend to stay calmer about this shit merely reading about it, than typing about it. It must be that when I am thinking about my comments, and analyzing the process and what it means, that must wake up deeper parts of my brain. And before I know it, I go all fuck this fuck them. I know it's not necessary to do so. But hey. My blog. My thoughts. All that.

Indy Day Quickies. Auto da Fé , Anyone?

In keeping with my practice of highlighting dumb things wing nut bloggers say to take a broader sweep at such wing nuts, the following, by the blogger over at "The Anchoress." Her premise (if not conclusion) seems to be that there is this thing called "True Evil." And that I guess she knows it when she sees (hears about it) if it's a grizzly violent crime that churns her stomach. Gimme a Freaking Break.

I'll try to keep my points to a few. What about Hannah Arendt, and her famously brilliant observation about "The Banality of Evil?" Nope, you don't have to be engaged in the wet work of mayhem, to be evil, or truly evil. That's bullshit.

And secondly. We are talking human beings, not some enlightened species. The creativity with which humans have been killing other humans (and anything else that can bleed and die) seems limitless. Just this past season, I saw Verdi's "Don Carlo," at the MET. The big moment in the show is when the heathens get burned to death. The Auto da Fé? No, they did not "burn" them on stage. The director came up with a brilliant way to suggest that, with out graphically representing it. I'll not laundry list it, but shit. Give me a break. Watch a movie about the Crusades, or any European Civil or religious war. Shit. Watch "Hotel Rwanda."

Let me move on to other things. I will only say about DSK that I am glad I have not said shit about DSK so far. Great call by me. I got burned enough with Weiner. That was enough (and that was my wanting to take his word that he was not lying, for as long as I did.)

I love the idea being kicked around that the WH can just tell congress to fuck off about the debt. I read (just now) part of an interesting discussion about the strengths and the weakness of that tactic. But since I am ideologically in favor of crushing the GOP and tossing the institution on the shit heap of history ASAP, the very idea of taking away their blackmail lever is very attractive.

People need to lean harder on Bachmann. I know that crazy born-again shit-talk appeals to her natural evan-gelly base, but God told me to Marry That Man. God Told Me to Go to Law School. What the fuck? That's crazy talk. She's crafty enough to soft sell that God told me to shit now. But we have her on tape singing the full freak version of the evan'gelly anthem. Let's make her wear that like the stink from a skunk squirt.

Oh. And I am getting long here, so let me just remind all you wing nuts. There's no excuse for your beliefs. None. On my best of days I say there is nothing so wrong with most of you (as some of you are beyond being saved, mentally) that can't be fixed by changing your minds.

Until that day, I consider you all to be minions of evil. And I really don't believe in Satan. But I do believe in Hannah Arendt's genius observation of our morally weakling species.

Jon Stewart Takes Down the Evil, Lying GOP (Particularly GOP Media) Hypocrites.

This is Jon Stewart at his best. I think this is Pulitizer Prize level commentary.

Stewart show the rank evil lying hypocrisy in/on Fox News, and in other like minded parts of the Right Wing Media machine. He does this by comparing the insane anti teacher rhetoric, against the pro banker, pro rich people shit they were spewing, weeks and months ago.

Now personally, I have for the most part given up on the pretense, pretending that the GOP is anything more valid and respectable than a gang of lying evil bastards, committed to destroying the American Way of Life, be that only some are smart enough to get it, that that really is the end game here. Destroying Unions, which have done more to raise the income of ordinary and the overall majority of workers, than anyone or any thing since the plague in the 14th century so depopulated Europe that peasant's wages were doubled (them, all of a sudden being scarce, ya know,) is not just an attack on unions. It's an attack on all workers who are not so uniquely skilled that they can go out into the marketplace and actually demand really high wages and benefits. And let's face it. Even professionals, like doctors and lawyers and what not are not really so uniquely skilled that most of them can demand what a mediocre baseball gets . . . for playing a child's game.

Anyway. Ending the rant. Moving on to the routine:

Rich teachers, poor bankers?

Pardon My Lack of Civility . . .

I'm still detoxing from the wacky world of web forums. Not that there really is any use in trying to converse with hard core republicans. Hell. There's not even much to gain from flaming them. But it was a pressure release for me. I mean, merely saying here that the GOP is evil might be true, but there's less fun in that then explaining why they are evil to one or more of them. Yes. I have whipped out the actual dictionary meaning, and even the famous Hannah Arendt,"Banality of evil," observation/quote. And still their lame defense is they personally haven't committed acts of mass murder or are not serial killers, so how can they be evil?

And that leads right into why it's of little to no practical use to debate with those delusional idiots. If someone is so messed up in the head that they will routinely and frequently substitute their desired meanings for words, instead of the real meaning of those words, it is pointless to try. The words might be English, but they are speaking a different language. It's one where every word means what they want it to mean, when they want it to mean what they want it to mean.

So why did I do it for so many years? It was only a small amount of fun to do so, but it sorta satisfied some darker need. I can't blame my pirate ancestors, but I do like giving hell, time to time. But as it is, the last board I was posting on has all but banned me. I am not stricken of the list. I just can't post in any of the contentious threads. I had been in the gulag -- my own little place to rant, that others could come into and get a taste of my hell giving. However management has pulled the plug on even that.

In the board's owner's mind, calling the GOP evil was hate speech. This is after I had the definition discussion with her twice in a month. Anyway. I should not miss it, but it was something of an outlet for venting. And venting into the void (with out even a seeming virtual audience,) is just not the same thing. And now I need to do something more constructive with that excess emotional energy. Hey. There's that rally I am going to (plan to) Saturday. Yea for that!

Everything Old is New Again. Why Sometimes Independents Make Me More Sick Than GOPers.

I likely have made the point before, if not here, somewhere. Cons/GOPers are fantasy land, delusional revanchists. Revanchists, of course, are backward looking people. They want to regain what was lost, be it raw power, or some fantasy land image of the way things used to be.

Now I could say they want some fantasy land version of the 1950's restored. Wasn't much good about the 50's save that most of the rest of the world's industrial capacity had been bombed to shit, leaving the USA with an artificial advantage in global markets. Oh, and par and parcel of that economic advantage, trade unionism was at it's heights. I say that because here in 2011 a republican dick head of a newbie governor is trying to (and likely will) write a new chapter in the book."How to Bust Unions." (Reagan would be so proud. Ya know who he is. Before being POTUS he was the president of a union. The fuck.) So instead of saying today's con is 1950's revanchist, I will roll back the clock to the middle of the 19th century. If not earlier.

Fuck a duck. What can we do with people that fucking ignorant? I know. I have fought the rhetorical fight against rank a file GOPer for years. These people possess an immunity to cognitive dissonance. Most people are bothered by contradictory thoughts/beliefs that can not be resolved or otherwise harmonized. These fuckers? No problem there. I know some folk might think it unfair of me to say, but I think that is the sign of a shallow mind. I think a mind has to lack depth to pull that trick off.

But now (looking at the clock and thinking I need to play some guitar tonight -- if I plan on finally posting that song I wrote to YouTube soon,) I take a shot at independents/swing voters.

I hate you fuckers.

I hate you for voting GOP.

I hate you for voting GOP in spite of the overwhelming evidence the economic crisis was caused by GOP policies.

I Hate you for shallow, vapid thinking like (and I believe Ann Althouse said this on bloggingheads) voting GOP to vote for "change." (Change from fucking what? From 2 years of the other team trying very hard to fix the shit bag of problems created by the GOP? The solution for better guarding the hen house from the foxes, is to put the foxes in charge? Fuck a duck! I mean hen!)

Looking at the shit that Walker and his fellow GOP minions are trying to (and will likely) pull makes me very angry at the swing voters. Those evil fucks would never get back near the levers of power without you swing voters making it so.

So fuck you very much.

On Wisconsin

Should it surprise anyone that the budget crisis in WI is a scam?

Wisconsin's GOP Governor is an evil, lying assed weasel.

It doesn't, me. Rachel Maddow had a great bit about this yesterday. Let me link that, as well.

Link to video.

Not that union busting is something new for the evil GOP. But this might be the first time a governor has manipulated the budget and the laws of a state to bust a public union.

It is so very evil.

I just took a look over at Wisconsin's most famous blogger, Ann Althouse's page. She's big on pictures of the protesters and links to other's reporting. Make that blogging. There is a huge difference between the two. But is their anything there about how this really is about a contrived right wing attack on unions, for political and ideological reason? Nope. Not a peep about that stuff.

As painful as it might be to endure, I am hoping for her to be on bloggingheads soon. I just hope who ever they square off her will not let her get away with her own weaseling. Well that's what I am expecting, based on prior performance.

Edit to add: Yup, she got around to the story about the scam.

She seems to believe she is being fair, but to my mind she's weaseling. That's the problem with trying to be fair, in what is a very sharply polarized argument. If one can not decide what one thinks and articulate it clearly, one comes across as weaseling. This is not to say I don't believe she can't make up her mind which side she's on. I can well believe that. But in avoiding to take a side she is basically weaseling out of taking a side. Right?
