Re Pussy Riot.

I'm so not feeling the love for Pussy Riot. Now I am a fan of mocking politicians in music. I am all for that. I'm the guy who wrote, performed, and recorded and uploaded to Youtube the stinker of a song, "Tea Party, Fuck you!"

But trespassing at the church to do it? That's the wrong way to do it. Now do I think their sentences are harsh? Ya. Then again, so is life in Putin's Russia. Pick your battles smarter, Pussy Riot.

Article on Pussy Riot I have not yet read, but post link for context.

Kill a Sacred Cow Day, is Everyday. But Today's Treat? Free Speeh Hypocrites.

Firstly, this vid  is on the longer side. You need at least 1/2 hour to kill to get through it in one shot, but it is interesting. This guy, Jonathan Haidt, is very smart and has some interesting insight. Comes the big but . . .
But if he was at all trying to get me to understand, and therefore recognize the humanity in conservatives, he managed the opposite. Well, it's not like I haven't paid attention to the sanctity/degradation angle before. And in short, the things they sanctify (all their stupid bullshit,) and the things they degrade, pretty much convince me their world view is an abomination, and anti human.

Granted, apparently lot of Americans are down with that Old Testament -fueled, bigotry and meanness-enabling, hateful shit.

And that is what I despise about conservatism. Wait. Meanness disguised as religion, or sanctity, is nothing new. It's one of the things I most despise about our species.

There.  I have had my say, but.

Hey.  All you peeps who thought you were sticking up for Free Speech, buying and eating those bigot-funding, phony tasty (as nothing say phony tasty like adding heaps of MSG) chick sandwiches. Hey! Where the fuck were you when they were protesting the building of that Mosque in NYC near the WTC site?

Didja stand up for Free Speech then?

How about when ever and where ever else peeps were protesting the construction of any other Mosques?

 Well?
Have you ever gone over to Al Jazeera on line just to support them against all the bigoted shit that has been thrown their way? Well? Hell, they have won more awards for journalism the Fox has.
How about cut a tiny check for CAIR or some other Pro Muslim/Arab group? Ya never have? I am Shocked, shocked!
And how about the other side of the story. Do you routinely buy stuff from KKK supporters to promote their Free Speech rights? How about Neo Nazis? Anti Semites? I am not saying you should, but a GENUINE free speecher would have to.

Just saying.

Lying Crooked Scalia

According to Ass. Justice Scalia, regarding the decision in the "Citizen's United," case, “Jefferson would have said, ‘The more speech, the better.’”

However, and in seemingly direct contradiction, Jefferon said: “The end of democracy an...d the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.”

Can we impeach Scalia yet?

Still Quiet on the Western Front.

I am beginning to lose hope that the blogger I have lately taken to calling Racist Professor Dickface is going to throw himself on the Derbyshire Affair hand grenade and blow his shit up (metaphorically speaking, of course.)  Alas, he remains silent on the matter.  But that other racist law professor, who blogs as Instapundit, came through. Yea!  Granted, his own commentary rated as weak to none, he did link this bizarre piece elsewhere on the PJ Media real estate  (he's part of them.)  It's hard to characterize this twisted shitty whiny rant.  It's not so much the writer is saying he is pro racism.  But instead is is making the argument that anti racism is bad.

Remembering that when the issue is racism, I use Horse Shoe rules, not Darts rules, I say fuckit.  Looks close enough to a pro racist article that I will call it pro racist.  Remember people.  If you defend racist rants on some misguided "Free Speech" grounds, the grounds do not count.  You are defending racist content.  And no.  Ya fucking idiot.  The 1st Amend. Does not prevent people being horrified by the content of racist rants, or by those making or who have made racist rants, or from firing those who make or have made racist rants.  That's called fairness, in the sense that you reap what you so.  I thought you cons were all into personal responsibility.  Guess the fuck not.

Anyway, I am going to link the essay.  Read it yourself.  If you have the time to waste.

I'm not a racist, but . . .

Oh.  And this essay mentions Mark Steyn having published something about the Derbyshire affair.  Can't wait to see what ignorant  "I'm not a racist, but," shit he has to say.

Edit to add:

Steyn's piece?  Starting off  bemoaning the sans culottes?  Does that make you a supporter of the Ancien Regime?  Steyn is his very own collection of shit brained ideas that a lot of cons seem to like.  He's their brand of shithead.  Also he's was passes for an intellectual there.  But so is Jonah Goldberg, so that's not saying much.

But back to the point, I disagree with the premise that we should have a society that anything can be said.  Out loud.  Without consequence.  That last part is the important part.  Everyone is still free in America to say any stupid assed shit they like.  But everyone else is free to judge them for it.  Harshly, if they so desire.   This is not a matter of law, or some mere societal taboo.  It's the actual fucking way fucking human brains are wired.  We are wired to like what we like and not like what we don't like.  We are by nature judgmental.  It's a necessary and critical part of the human capacity for higher thought.

But ya.  Society does need standards, every bit as much as individual humans need to make qualitative and affinity and rejection decisions.

Now THIS is a Violation of the Right of Free Speech.

One of the few issues that puts me in conflict with people on both sides of the fence (after religion;)  fake claims of violation of free speech rights.  I like to remind people that they have a right to say what ever ignorant, ugly shit they want.  And then everyone else has the right to get on their shit for the shit they say.  But there are limits to that.  Such as State Action?

Take this nonsense.

Berkeley Police Chief Michael Meehan has come under fire after sending an armed sergeant to Oakland Tribune reporter Doug Oakley's home in the middle of the night to push for changes to a story.
According to the Oakland Tribune, Meehan claimed that Oakley misquoted him in a story. Minutes after reading the article, Meehan ordered Sgt. Mary Kusmiss to visit the reporter's home and request that he correct the article -- at 12:45 a.m.
A reminder, people.  If a radio station/network fires someone over stupid shit they say, that is not censorship.  That's an internal business decision.  If a radio host gets a shit storm of push back after not only a particularly abusive assault on a person, but for all intents and purposes, a career of such abuses, that is not a violation of his free speech rights.  That's the marketplace in operation, for better or worse.  If the POTUS makes mention of billionaires who are spending money against his reelection, that is not a chilling effect.  That's just adversarial politics.  Shit.  Even when a well known comedian gets shit from the cultural/political opposition?  That's the intersection of politics and marketplace.

But when the cops show up on your damn doorstep to try to make you change only one word in your story?  Now that's a violation of free speech.

Colossal Idiots

That one particular colossal idiot who blogs as Instapundit is one of the leaders of this ad hoc defend Rush Limbaugh campaign.  His idea?  Get people to cancel their cable/HBO  (on account of Bill Maher calling Mrs. Palin a cunt, months ago,) and tell the cable company why.  And then he wants people to buy this device for streaming content to their TV  with out a cable.  (And he wants them to do that through his Amazon affiliate what the fuck ever link.) It's called Roku.

And one of the content providers you can get on your Roku Box, is HBO.

I can't even make shit like this up!  What a colossal idiot.

But I am holding him up as just one of the Rush Defenders.  Apparently  this is their logic.  It's bad to target a broadcaster's advertisers, so they are on the one hand, targeting the advertisers who have dropped Rush, and on the other hand, attacking HBO for Bill Maher.

Again.  I can't even make this shit up.

Meantime, I actually listened to a couple minutes of Rush's show today.  He's playing the victim.  He was trying to make some false equivalence argument about the new TV show that is called  GCB.  It is abbreviated that way because the book that's the source for the show was titled Good Christian Bitches.

As if that in any way changes the fact that Rush is a serial, decades  long abusive, ugly, nasty piece of shit?

I Don't Intend To Dwell on Professor Dick Face, But . . .

Any wing nut will usually suffice as evidence of how ill mannered, immature and just goat fucking stupid wing nuts are.  But today, he's being used by me only as the intro to the real point.  And I am going to talk about Pat Buchanan's getting fired.  Rightfully so.  Now I did see something about it on Mediate first, but I did not read the article there yet.  But I did go to Professor Dick Face's blog,  and I read what he had to say about it.  Well he really did not say much but for agreeing with Pat's whiny, free speech bullshit, idiotic, immature complaint.

Dick Face Agrees With Pat Buchanan's Hissy Fit.

But I will deconstruct Pat as the Professor Dick Face is just the caboose here.  But I will say up front, this is why I think the professor is a racist's apologist.  Because he does odious things  like agree with whiny racists when they whine about being labeled as racists, and shunned  on account of that.

Honestly, now that I think of it.  There is no need to go that far in explaining why Pat is a racist.

What's the title of his latest  Whiny White Boy book?   Oh.  Right.  It was not the name of the book, but the titles of some of the chapters that got him in the shit:

The book "Suicide of a Superpower" contained chapters titled "The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America." Critics called the book racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic, charges Buchanan denied.
Here.

It takes a special level of detachment from objective reality for one to write a book where one basically is whining about the end of White America, and have the fucking nerve to be upset when one is called a racist, on account of one's whining about the end of White America.

That's all I need to say about Pat.  Game.  Set. Match.  It's all over but for the whining.  No.  He's whining about getting fired for his whiny assed racist book.  So it is OVER!

But getting back to professor Dick Face.  It's equally unhinged from objective reality to agree with the whiny assed racist about how it's so wrong for him to get fired on account of his being a whiny assed racist.  And the asshole idiots in the comments section of that post?  Again  motherfuckers.  (I am using that word not literally but in order to communicate the deep level of despite I have for them.)

Tolerance has limits.  The philosophy of Tolerance ends where bigotry begins.  And by that I mean  there is no hypocrisy or double standard being employed when otherwise tolerant people say, nope, you gotta go, BECAUSE you are a racist, a homophobe, or a christianst, or other kind of religious bigot.   Society has always had standards.  Standards are now higher than they have ever been, thanks to progressive thought.  Bigotry used to be institutionalized and respected in this country.  Nowadays  it is something to be avoided at risk of public ridicule and alienation.

And no, motherfuckers.  Denying that one is a racist, a homophobe, or a christianst, or other kind of religious bigot is not going to get you anywhere, not with anyone who truly believes in tolerance, and social standards.  We people who believe in all that  know that the standard is good.  The standard is necessary.  That the old ways of bigotry have to be defeated.  But more to the point, individual people have to do the work to change themselves from being bigots, to being decent.  And that means people need to stop saying bigoted shit.  And in order to really accomplish that, people really need to stop validating bigoted thoughts in their heads, to begin with.

Like I used to say on the message board, you have to do the work.  Every day of your life you have to exert some kind of self control, some sort of discipline in order to not be a bigot.  It's not a status that people reach one day and that's it.  They are born again as a clean soul.  It's not like that at all.  It is a process.  One that Pat Buchanan holds in utter contempt.  Well, sufficiently in contempt to not do dick to change his bigoted ways, at least.

I'll end there.  This gets exhausting.  Having to explain the same basic shit, over and over again.

SOPA and Dishonest Wing Nut Liars.

Could you be more wrong, And by that I mean silly wrong, Ann Althouse?

I originally typed up some longer screed, but I thought better of it.  Here is my concise argument.

Law Professors.  Particularly Constitutional Law Professors fucking should fucking recognize that fucking commercial speech, and fucking political speech, are not the fucking same.  Actually  where real people are concerned, political speech gets the higher value.  But when we are talking about corporations  trying to engage in political speech that directly can impact an election, we, reasonable people, think.  Whoa.  If you don't have the right to vote, on account of not being a natural person, do you really have much of a right to participate in the elective process, if you really don't have a right to participate in the elective process?

As absurd as it is, any and every state government could outlaw all actions by all corporations  in their states.  It won't ever happen, I would guess.  But all, any US State (or territory with that level of law making authority) can totally strip all corps of not only the right of speech, but all so called rights, by merely  (and I know it's a not easy thing to do) repealing their corp law.

Now if a state government can outlaw  totally corporations, doesn't it follow they can muzzle them?  And I mean not only as far as speech, but muzzle them in any way imaginable?

Put that in your wing nut crack pipe, and smoke it!

Hey.  I did the rewrite with out calling anyone a fuck, or some fucking thing.  Good for me.
