Pat Buchanan All But Admits (well the conclusion was beyond him) Why Republicans Should Just Give Up. (Not They Will, Though.)
Now on to Pat's response.
Pat goes on some tangent about how the Latinos believe in government because they are poor and want stuff from the government . . . .
I WILL MERELY NOTE THE INHERENT RACISM THERE, AND MOVE ON . . .
The hidden morsel of truth was there, on the other side of the mirror. Pat is old school (basically racist) republican, and as such he does not believe in government. Reagan did not believe in government either. That is a cornerstone of old school republicanism (never mind if the person in question is also a racist piece of garbage.)
That is the problem with republicans. Why the hell should people continue to vote for republicans to hold government offices, when too many of them still hold the idea of government in contempt?
Not a rhetorical question. WTF? Would you go to a surgeon who did not believe in surgery? Would you hire a house painter who did not believe in using paint? Would you hire a mechanic who did not believe in machines?
Well?
Point is, that even if that question was not upfront in the past election, it was there. Hell, I am pretty damn sure I heard one or the other of "Team Maverick," quote Reagan about government not being the solution but the problem. Well now in the end of the year 2008 when the big bad Federal Government is basically having to save the private sector, Wall Street, and now Detroit? Well that bullshit lie about government being the problem is more so than ever, obviously a total lie.
No rational, sane person is going to believe that shit anymore. And if the Obama Administration does even a halfway decent job of running things, not only will they be geometrically more successful than Plastic Turkey Man's Admin., but even more so, those idiots and liars who think that government is the problem will be even more marginalized. I hope to see the day when they are considered as backward as the Flat Earth Society. And at the rate things are going, that is not asking for anything that is an odds-against outcome. Thank goodness!
So Pat Buchanan? Be very nice to the people over on MSNBC. As each day ends and another begins, you are that much more out of date. So be happy for the gig. And don't make personal racist attacks on the younger black republicans if you know what is good for you!
