Sometimes I Feel a Little Sorry for Republicans. But Then They Go and Pull Shit Like This . . .

I will say it plainly. I can see that it is not easy to be a Republican, even when they are in power. It can't be easy to be a member of the party that is more closely associated with demagoguery, racism, meanness, and just plain acting like a dick. So I can feel sorry for them sometimes. And when I say them, I don't mean the public faces, but I mean the peeps who are drawn to the GOP based on the ideology, but might not actually embrace their inner dick head, and do not necessarily respect bullying, assholery, or any brand or form of sociopathy. Then again, if that stuff were really repugnant to them, they would not vote for candidates who act that way, right? Anyway. The following is an example of really stupid Republican Shit.

Ann Coulter is getting more and more bizzare in her attention whore antics. Her latest stunt? She, being a graduate of Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences took to task Keith Olbermann for being only a grad of Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Therefore, according to Coulter, Olbermann lies when he says he has an Ivy League Education.

When I first learned of this, I thought it was weird. I am a graduate of a university myself, and I know that what make a university a university is that it has several colleges as sub parts. Hell, as one of the oldest ones in America, and as, originally, a land grant college, the core original college of my Alma Mater is the Ag College. It has seven separate undergrad schools and colleges, not counting the Medical School, the Grad School and the Honors School, and Agriculture and Life Sciences is one of the separate colleges. (And as an aside, I just now learned that my Alma Mater made the Forbes Top 10 List of Best Colleges/Universities.)

But no one says if you went to the Agriculture and Life Sciences College, that you did not go to the proper part of the university, never mind that the Aggies could say they are the only real school, being the successor to the original institution. But never mind all that. That was an almost pointless exercise because we do not refer to the Ivys as the discrete sub parts of universities. We refer to the University as being part of the Ivy League. So basically Coulter was just pulling shit out of her ass. It was wholly unnecessary for Olbermann to pull out and show on air that his diploma was indeed from Cornell University. But it was great theatre.

So where does this story tie in to a greater Republican dick move, and a reason for witholding sympathy for Republicans? When the story first broke, I noticed a thread over on the Hannity Board where the dick weed minions were cheering Coulter on for inventing out of thin air a distinction that heretofore did not exist between graduates of Cornell University. That was ignorant of them. However, more so than being the result of their lack of understanding the meaning of the Ivy League, and lacking the educational experience to know the distinctions between a university and its constituent colleges, this cheering on of the liar was really more a matter of partisanship.

These public Republicans could make up shit that even a 6th grader should know is total bullshit.

And still, many of them will cheer on, out of their knee-jerk, make that circle-jerk, sense of loyalty to their mean, nasty dick head sociopathic leaders. And that is why I have a hard time actually feeling sorry for Republicans; denounce the dick headed sociopaths in your ranks. Then I will feel sorry for the blanket labeling of your party as a party of sociopathic dick heads.

But not until.
