Republicans are Addicts

Even if they are not now, nor ever have been addicted to a substance.  To explain the baseline.  Attorneys usually have to take Continuing Legal Education classes.  Part of that requirement includes either ethics or addiction classes.  Personally I never really got the how of behavior addictions, like gambling, until I took a class where that was explained.

It's about brain biochemistry, and triggers, and I am not going deeper into that.  Point is.  It hit me over the past few days.  That so many Republicans act like current or ex addicts.  Actual ex crack addict Glenn Loury gave me this accidental clue on of his recent vids.  He accidentally subtly admitted his continuing sense of shame, by universalizing his own self loathing to all Blacks.  That is what I got out of the vid.

Dude is just over flowing with so much self hate,  he has to see it every where.

But the addict's mind is one where shame and self loathing are in charge.  That and the desire for the trigger for the biochemical rush.  And the shame can lessen while the addict is high.  But it is a cycle.

And I see a similar cycle in specifically the MAGA movement.  But the GOP has been headed that way for years.  They are not about ideas.  They are about feelings.  The more extreme the better.  As intense feelings can trigger biochemical reactions, which lead to even more intense feelings.  And the cycle continues.

Sure.  Democrats can get enthusiastic.  But we are more concerned with government delivering needed and useful services.  The feeling of taking care of others is healthy.  It's not part of some biochemical high and crash and crave cycle.

One last thing.  Ever notice how it's crazy people who can best stand crazy people.  And addicts can stand other addicts?

Yeah.  Like calls to like.  And who has more problematic brain biochemistry than bozo?  Well. Famous political figure at least.  I say that RFK Jr is a unique mess.  But he seems more stable.  Functional?  Than bozo.
