Thought of The Day (To Start, At Least.)

"Attempting to explain irrational thoughts unfortunately seems to be a futile exercise."

I read that over on Mediaite, at the end of an article about Professor Dershowitz's recent op ed as published in the NY Post. But the sentiment is no only not new, it does have wide applicability, beyond that specific context of the futility of trying to explain the causes of anti semitism.

Actually, it's what I tell myself (not in that exact word selection and order) about wasting my time arguing with wingnuts. It's futile to argue with folk who deny reality, show contempt for actual facts, make up their own facts, and beyond that, rewrite the meanings of words just to prop up their delusional and usually flat out wrong view on the specifics and just about all else, generally.
