Who Is the Intolerant Jerk?

The (JMO) jerk who wrote the article lays out, eventually, three hypothetical scenarios to make some insane point about intolerance on the left.

There is not a groundswell of Democrats trying to make anyone do anything they really don't like, as in those scenarios, save the last one.  And that is the idiocy regarding not using people's preferred pronouns.  Anyway, here is how I would have answered him on the site, if I were up for registering, and dealing with people.  But I wasn't.

Putting aside the calling someone a bigot part. In America:

The religious institution is free to limit its services and real estate to members.

The kind of artist who takes commission works is free to choose who to work for. It's not even a matter of conscience. It's a mere function of status as an independent contractor who does work for hire, as opposed to being a merchant selling goods and services to the street or internet traffic, and being subject to the laws regarding enganging in business in that manner. The writer tries to be cute and sets the scenario as the artist runs his own gallery?    Hmmm.  Not how real artitst make thie money.   I call bulshit!

And the pronoun example? It's not even asking someone to learn a new word, Like those of us of a cerain age had to learn Ms. And that wasn't asking too much of people, actually.

 

That Latest Homicide by Cops, Story.

 Bunch of black cops beat a skinny assed black man to death.  Ain't that a shame.  And I am not surprised. 

Cops today are less (often is the case)  members of the community, who look after the comunity as members of that community.  They tend to be a gang, who view themselves as not part of the community, but people who have power of the citizens of that community.  That is some toxic shit, and leads to beat downs, shootings, rapes, and murder.

How did Dave Chapelle say it years ago?  In a routine he said something to the effect:

"America is so racist, the other day I caught myself being racist against myself."

So yeah.  Ask any sane, rational, Black American if this story is a suprise?  They will say no.

Now for the Ann Althouse mention.  She posted about the  Van Jones piece on CNN, talking about this,  and I will just quote some of what she quotes:

"Black people can harbor anti-Black sentiments and can act on those feelings in harmful ways. Black cops are often socialized in police departments that view certain neighborhoods as war zones. In those departments, few officers get disciplined for dishing out “street justice” in certain precincts — often populated by Black, brown or low-income people — where there is a tacit understanding that the “rulebook” simply doesn’t apply.... "

And here is her freestye remark:

"Some people are over-reacting to this column and seem as if they were hoping that because the 5 police officers who killed Tyre Nichols are black, we can proceed directly to color-blindness. Too soon! Too easy! Let's look straightforwardly at reality and not coddle ourselves."

I haven't seen that.  It would have been useful to call out the white supramacist motherfuckers  saying that shit.  But anyway.  I usually do not even look at her comments.  And that is within the meta level of not really reading most of her shit, when I am skimming her blog, anyway.  Like I said. I skim. 

But when the topic concerns race, I will often take a peek at the comments just to see how early in time is the first blatant, or pretty much based in white supramacist bullshit, remark.  In this case, the first one screamed of white supramacist bullshit.  Or to categorize the sub genre of white supramacist bullshit?  It was a pathetic attempt at a joke in the style of, "Stop blaming white people for everything," remarks.

Yeah.   I am still going to keep to a minimum, remarking about her and other pseudo intellectuals.

But she wasn't on the side of the white supramacists, it seems, this time at least.

Resistance is Futile. Maybe. Likely.

 I live under several delusions. Often, I believe, that if only it gets said one more time, and to the right people, that conservativism is inherently evil, because maintenance of tradition is a maintenance of oppression of those people traditionally oppressed. We can finally end it as an actively followed philosophy. Things will get better.

As well, I believe, sometimes, that if we could only remind people of the truth. Our collective ancestors were not good people. By and largely, the leaders were dangerous psychopaths. And because of that, they are the worst people to use as role models. And after that, things will get better.

And sometimes I believe that if only we can show people, here in America, that exerting power over people because you can, or because you think you know better how they should live, is as unamerican an idea as is possible. And if we just do that, things will get better.

Lastly, if only to keep from going on too long. Sometimes I believe that if I can only get the right people to see that the root cause of social problems often is people feeling entitled to do whatever they want to other people. We can end a lot of misery and harm. And things will get better.

None of those are new ideas. It’s the same old fight. And I am tired of the fight. Just saying.

I sat down and started typing with the intention of doing a rare bit of serious writing worth submitting for an op ed, or the like. But even before really starting, I saw the futility in that. But you can best believe the next time I chat with a congress critter I will encourage them to go after the GOP as if is an existential threat to the rest of us. Because those self-entitled, evil fuck faces are.

But I won’t say fuck faces. I'm too classy for that..

They Use Words. And Say Nothing.

Thus "truthed" bozo, as I call the ex potus.  He with the designation 45.  This was part of his memorial tribute marking the death of "Diamond."  She who was one half of the pro bozo minstrel show known as "Diamond and Silk."

I facetiously say that nothing marks someone as someone worth paying any attention to, like using stripper names.  Which is to say, not serious.

Meantime.  The 99% white minstrel show that is the newly sworn in GOP House Majority is already back to using words and saying nothing.

Depending on choice of nationality, there is that old line about may you live in interesting times.  I don'tb think the times are interesting. Instead I think I am stuck living in a crack whore's worst nightmare.  

And so it goes.
