I Don't Intend To Dwell on Professor Dick Face, But . . .

Any wing nut will usually suffice as evidence of how ill mannered, immature and just goat fucking stupid wing nuts are. But today, he's being used by me only as the intro to the real point. And I am going to talk about Pat Buchanan's getting fired. Rightfully so. Now I did see something about it on Mediate first, but I did not read the article there yet. But I did go to Professor Dick Face's blog, and I read what he had to say about it. Well he really did not say much but for agreeing with Pat's whiny, free speech bullshit, idiotic, immature complaint.

Dick Face Agrees With Pat Buchanan's Hissy Fit.

But I will deconstruct Pat as the Professor Dick Face is just the caboose here. But I will say up front, this is why I think the professor is a racist's apologist. Because he does odious things like agree with whiny racists when they whine about being labeled as racists, and shunned on account of that.

Honestly, now that I think of it. There is no need to go that far in explaining why Pat is a racist.

What's the title of his latest Whiny White Boy book? Oh. Right. It was not the name of the book, but the titles of some of the chapters that got him in the shit:

The book "Suicide of a Superpower" contained chapters titled "The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America." Critics called the book racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic, charges Buchanan denied.

It takes a special level of detachment from objective reality for one to write a book where one basically is whining about the end of White America, and have the fucking nerve to be upset when one is called a racist, on account of one's whining about the end of White America.

That's all I need to say about Pat. Game. Set. Match. It's all over but for the whining. No. He's whining about getting fired for his whiny assed racist book. So it is OVER!

But getting back to professor Dick Face. It's equally unhinged from objective reality to agree with the whiny assed racist about how it's so wrong for him to get fired on account of his being a whiny assed racist. And the asshole idiots in the comments section of that post? Again motherfuckers. (I am using that word not literally but in order to communicate the deep level of despite I have for them.)

Tolerance has limits. The philosophy of Tolerance ends where bigotry begins. And by that I mean there is no hypocrisy or double standard being employed when otherwise tolerant people say, nope, you gotta go, BECAUSE you are a racist, a homophobe, or a christianst, or other kind of religious bigot. Society has always had standards. Standards are now higher than they have ever been, thanks to progressive thought. Bigotry used to be institutionalized and respected in this country. Nowadays it is something to be avoided at risk of public ridicule and alienation.

And no, motherfuckers. Denying that one is a racist, a homophobe, or a christianst, or other kind of religious bigot is not going to get you anywhere, not with anyone who truly believes in tolerance, and social standards. We people who believe in all that know that the standard is good. The standard is necessary. That the old ways of bigotry have to be defeated. But more to the point, individual people have to do the work to change themselves from being bigots, to being decent. And that means people need to stop saying bigoted shit. And in order to really accomplish that, people really need to stop validating bigoted thoughts in their heads, to begin with.

Like I used to say on the message board, you have to do the work. Every day of your life you have to exert some kind of self control, some sort of discipline in order to not be a bigot. It's not a status that people reach one day and that's it. They are born again as a clean soul. It's not like that at all. It is a process. One that Pat Buchanan holds in utter contempt. Well, sufficiently in contempt to not do dick to change his bigoted ways, at least.

I'll end there. This gets exhausting. Having to explain the same basic shit, over and over again.

Why do GOPers feel compelled to crack jokes about policy, particularly policies where other people have to suffer the consequences of GOPers not taking them or their concerns seriously? Wait a minute. The answer might be right there in that first sentence.

In any case, and I am addressing Aspirin Man here:

Now I usually rank on his slimy, wing nut ass becasue he's a particularly odious racist's apologist. Likely he's got some shitty thoughts going on behind his dick face that I would say, close enough to me, he's a fucking racist too. But that's not the kind of shit he oozes, usually. His thing is perpetuating the racist nonsense that wing nuts say about black people being too sensitive to (wing nut. Let's be particular) racism. He's one of those enemies of humanity, who if left to his own devices, seemingly, would redefine racism to include only neo Nazis or worse offenders, and black racial activists or any like minded Democrat.

But that's the contex. Here's today's violation. Talk about getting it wrong. The bit I linked above is him, Professor Wing Nut Dick Face touting some PEW stats about inter racial and inter ethnic marriages. Nothing wrong with that (except if you lump both together to get a 15% fig, one who's smarter than a bucket of snot would likely ask, what's the real numbers? How much of that is interethnic vs what most Americans would agree is actually interracial?)

Personally I am a product of about 500 years (at fucking least) of inter racial marriage and or what not. So Yea That, far as I am concerned.

I call the motherfucker out as a motherfucker for posting this line:

Now for the deconstruction. Motherfucker. It is particularly disturbingly funny you start out in the post talking about falling stereotypes, and then end with a particularly odious, and unfounded one, about how Democrats use race to, as you say,"Work to their advantage." What the fuck do you have for evidence of that? I am willing to bet you actually believe that for fact. But it is an odious stereotype. Fucking remember you motherfucker what President Johnson said about the Democratic Party losing the South, and remember that the party did in fact lose the South. And it's over 40 fucking years later. And the South is still lost to the Democratic Party. Motherfucker.

Now for that other part. Again, I am willing to assume Professor Dick Face believes that shit, but again, prove that it is Democrats who,"Who feed on racial division as a political strategy."

Again, with the factually baseless stereotypes. But to get more particular and factual. As between the two major parties in America, only one, the Democratic Party is committed to the idea of a level playing field where past, generational and institutional harmful effects and results of racism are eliminated, so we can arrive at a fair and just society.

Fucking GOPers think they can just declare it a race neutral society, despite the mountain of stats, that not only show otherwise. But motherfucking GOPers have no shame about and are bizarrely hypocritical enough to trot out those very same stats of inequality when it suits them to do so. And, motherfucking GOPers will use those stats, either specifically or as general basis for the argument that the Democratic Party is running a plantation where they are deliberately keeping the black folk down (by? I don't really get the rest of the argument, actually, unless giving them help in housing, employment, food, health care is some how more oppressive than letting them go with out, if they happen to be so disadvantaged?)

Lastly, and I don't think Professor Motherfucker Dick Face ever saw that brilliant movie by Warren Beatty, "Bullworth." There's that great scene where the newly awoken ethnic activist Senator Bullworth does that rap where the end line is about how racism will not end until there are no more white folks or black folks? I am not saying that's the goal of each and every registered Democrat. But I'd be my last dollar more Dems than GOPers sorta get that. But the truth of the matter is more that, and I admit, more likely as an ideal than as a true party platform plank, is that we are for elimination of white privilege. It's not white people and black people being eliminated (through interbreeding) that really is the goal. It is the elimination of whiteness as a status that is needed. Once we get rid of the idea and the reality that white means something more in American that any other ethnic/race category does, then we will be that much closer to a colorless society. And motherfucker, we have a fucking long way to go. Particularly as long as the motherfucking GOP is still around.

Usually this occurs when she talks about law, and a rule of law so universally understood by lawyers, that only a dishonest one would disagree. And she did that on one aspect of the, as I call it, not a religious liberty matter but rather: The War on Worker's Rights to Be Free of Employer Meddling With Their Insurance Coverage, matter. (Like how I framed the issue?)

She called out the wing nut redneck horde, particularly Rush Limbaugh, for finding/declaring some invisible, actually imaginary broad right to Religious Liberty in the actually narrow Free Exercise Clause.

And I say poor her, because I went and looked at the comments, and some of her minions are attacking her. For accurately stating the current and historical and actual meaning and limited nature of the Free Exercise Clause.

But everyone who is spewing that lie about how PP coerced Komen, and the straw man argument about charities being able to spend their money how they like (tacit argument -- with out the pesky part of having to answer to anyone else - and that is so bull shitty, it's a lie too,) is a big fat pants on fire liar. Even if Komen, as an organization, was a unskilled David going against the giant Goliath that PP is, it really was not PP who had their say. And I will explain that it was the stakeholders who were the real victors here.

Let me break it down. This evil liar here(Handel) used to be in government. An as everyone involved in government knows, institutions and issues have stakeholders. That includes charities, particularly those who solicit contributions from the public, a Komen does. And that's one way how you get stakeholders. That kind of charity is a gatekeeper, only. It's not the bank. Here, the public is the bank. To make any argument against that plain fact is a lie of monstrous proportion.

And in this case, the offended stakeholders made their anger known. The bank roared and the gate keeper responded. Granted, the fight is not over, and the damage Komen did to itself is huge. But this wasn't coercion. It wasn't thuggery. It wasn't extortion. It was the democracy of the marketplace. Funny how some (and I man so the hell many) republicans claim to love both democracy and the marketplace, but when push comes to shove, they hold both in rank, utter contempt. Horrible hypocrites.

Well the right wing wing nuts' latest mission, campaign against Planned Parenthood, as it played out in the Komen scandal, hit a snag. Granted, it's only that. The ridiculous "no investigation" standard has been re written to mean no criminal investigation. And current funding has been restored. But that does not mean it will be granted again next year. but PP will be allowed to ask for it.

Oddly enough, the people on the right? Well their heads were exploding, metaphorically speaking. I enjoyed that. But some of them were clever enough to see that all is not lost for them. But they did suffer a set back. Well deserved, I do say!

Chris Christie Is a Racist Redneck. Or Close Enough to Count as One.

Firstly, you grossly nasty, GOP, New Jersey, Racist Redneck. Apology definitely not accepted! On account that is was one of the GOP Non-apologies, where the piece of garbage redneck gets caught saying something at least borderline racist (or otherwise widely offensive) and only apologizes to those offended. As opposed to a true apology, which is to apologize for the offensive conduct/remark in a blanket fashion.

And deconstructing the offense? What you said was so unforgivable for a lawyer, that I would hope (against any chance of fulfillment) they yank your law degree for embarrassing the granting school. Civil Rights legislation and the court orders that followed were necessary because the racist, redneck states did not seem particularly inclined to abide by the plain meaning and language of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, with out being forced. So you really think letting the offending racist, redneck states vote on whether they should continue to ignore the 14th, or give up their racist redneck ways, makes any sense to anyone not a racist redneck?

And to make matters even worse, this grossly nasty, GOP, New Jersey, Racist Redneck is standing by his insult "numbnuts,' to the NJ legislator who . . . follow me here . . . correctly characterized Christie's remarks as something historical and notoriously racist southern rednecks would approve of (by mention such historic southern racist rednecks by name.)

Cause this is how it works for republicans. State the obvious. State the facts. Describe context, circumstance, and present sense impression of the the state of objective reality in objective terms, and that is just cause to be insulted as an idiot (or what ever other such meaning term the GOPer chooses.) I repeat my conclusion. The GOP must be destroyed. (And Redneckism is ruining this country. And it must be resisted.)

Hey. That theatre can get drafty. I should know. I used to work there, back in the day.

Everything . . . is beautiful. At the ballet. Haven't been to a City Ballet show yet this season. Gotta get on that. I haven't seen any ballet in a month! Talk about deprivation. But I might get to see the special Kings of the Dance: Opus 3 show at City Center in a few weeks. If I am lucky. And by lucky I mean comped. I love getting comped. It's the only way I can get really good seats, as I am not a subscriber for either City Ballet, or ABT. And this upcoming show I am talking about is not officially an ABT gig. But I know someone who knows someone. Well I will stop there but hey. I have a reasonable expectation for that gig.

Oh. And I don't mean my former boss, who used to run sound at City Center. Last I heard (as of last year) he's working at Carnegie Hall. And he doesn't get comp tix. I would imagine. Usually.

But I want to see some strong voices with high media profiles make the case that calling someone racist is not impolite, as long as their behavior warrants it. We can never really know what is in some one's heart, even if they say,"This is in my heart." Fuckers will lie. Particularly if they are wing nut racists who tend to believe the line is always there where the next guy said something stupid. It is never right there under their feet, when they say something stupid.

Newt: Don't Stifle the Audience Cheering the Candidate's Attack on the Media.

Well I originally wanted to post this just because of the topic in the title. The bizarre, mentally damaged person's complaint, that the audience was being stifled in siding with the candidates AGAINST the media? Then again I don't get this redneck, wing nut animosity against the media. I think it's pathological. I mean I get it. that Newton Leroy, Crown Prince of the Redneck Horde, scores points with the minions every time he does that. But it makes no sense. The job of POTUS is not to be at war with the media, for cryin' out loud. That has as much to do with being POTUS as one's ability to knit sweaters! (But I do get it -- it's an us vs them, identity politics, in group bigotry thing. And that's why I think it's pathology.) Anyway . . . .

I stuck with the video about 1/2 through. Talk about hypocrite or self blindness. Newt rants about the dishonesty of Romney calling him an influence peddler. Now why the freaking hell would any corp hire him as a so called consultant? Because he once had been a history professor, or because he once had been Speaker of the House?

Yesterday I went to see "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close." I found it compelling, complex, and emotionally stirring (and actually draining but not in a bad way.) Somewhere in the 2nd reel I was thinking, I might have a hard time calling this good. But that's because it's more like an emotional journey than mere story telling. But by the end I was willing to say, yes, it is a good film. I had a catharsis. Not major, but still. It hit me where I was willing to be hit, and in the right way. This is the first 9/11 related movie I have seen. I made a good choice waiting for this one. It's not so much about that awful day, but instead, the days after. And it is not about an event. It is about people who went through an event, and how that impacted their lives.

I saw it at the multiplex across the street (sort of) from the Julliard School. Now everyone will not get to see this in a NYC theatre, with a NYC crowd, but it was how I got to see it. Honestly, there were a few scenes where the audience was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Ya. Seriously. I'll end there. I could go on but I will merely predict another AA nom. for Sandra Bullock, and for Max von Sydow. And the young actor who plays that boy? Brilliant!

For any lawyer, never mind a law professor, to claim that when the corp pays taxes, and then after that, when the investor pays taxes on dividends or cap gains, that it's double taxation, is a misstatement of law (never mind fact) so huge, their law degrees should be yanked. Oh this lie might not be a new lie, but it galls. The dishonesty of the oligarchs, the plutocrats, and their minions. They are now claiming that the 1%, particularly those like Mittens who earn their income mainly from investments and only pay the low cap gains rate of tax around 15%, actually pay more taxes by percent than the rest of us.

Their dishonest reasoning? That corps first pay 35% on the corporation's own income. So the people making money on investing their money in the corp, (after the corp pays taxes and only then decides whether to issue dividends, or plow money back into the biz, or invest the profits somewhere else,) it is now being argued, personally paid that 35% tax first when actually the corp paid the tax, before investors pay the 15% tax on their own personal income, after the corporation decides to issue the dividends to investors.

Bullshit. Such utter bullshit, and not even considering that many corps do not pay remotely close to the 35%, to start.

Is it disturbingly humorous that people who claim to love capitalism so much they revere its basic tenets with as much ardor as their love of God and the religions they practice, seem to lack the most basic understanding of corporate bookkeeping and accounting.

And a follow up. Now I can't honestly say this only happens on the right wing. But there is, I have observed for years and years, a greater tendency for wing nuts to get all gooey or otherwise excited over arguments that merely contain attractive (to them) "points." I contrast such points with reasoned argument based on straight facts, and objective reality. This twisted double taxation argument is a perfect example of a point that is detached from objective reality.

Law Professors. Particularly Constitutional Law Professors fucking should fucking recognize that fucking commercial speech, and fucking political speech, are not the fucking same. Actually where real people are concerned, political speech gets the higher value. But when we are talking about corporations trying to engage in political speech that directly can impact an election, we, reasonable people, think. Whoa. If you don't have the right to vote, on account of not being a natural person, do you really have much of a right to participate in the elective process, if you really don't have a right to participate in the elective process?

As absurd as it is, any and every state government could outlaw all actions by all corporations in their states. It won't ever happen, I would guess. But all, any US State (or territory with that level of law making authority) can totally strip all corps of not only the right of speech, but all so called rights, by merely (and I know it's a not easy thing to do) repealing their corp law.

Now if a state government can outlaw totally corporations, doesn't it follow they can muzzle them? And I mean not only as far as speech, but muzzle them in any way imaginable?

Nor is it attacking Romney for the racist organization he was involved in as a child (potentially against his free will.) What Romney is being attacked there for is being an adult in a racist institution. He is being accused and rightly so, of going to a college that practiced racial segregation.

Again. Any fucking idiot who does not get the fucking facts here. Romney went to a college that practiced racial segregation, racial discrimination against people on account of their races.

That is not trumped up. That is a fact. And there is a presumption his conduct in the past gives rise to. And that presumption is that he was perfectly ok with the Mormon Church's racist practices and positions, before they changed them. Does this mean he is a blatant racist? More likely a negligent one. At least that is the rational inference for someone who attends a racially discriminatory college run by a racially discriminatory institution.

Now does that end the story? Oddly but true, compared to some of those other fuckers still in the race, Romney comes across as one of the least rednecky racist. But I can not really know what he feels deep down inside. I doubt he would be with me on the barricades, merely on account of being GOP. But he does come across as negligently racist, at least, even if not badly, blatantly racist. And for the record I consider negligently racist as not really anti black/brown, but still really doesn't give a fuck about whether or not black/brown/other non white people are actually being treated fairly in America. Compare that to Pat Buchanan who is so scared that the whites are losing control of America that he fucking wrote a book whining about the inevitable fact.

So let's get back to the professor. Now it is one thing if he wants to give a pass to the institution of the Mormon Church, for being more then 10 years behind the Federal Government on racial equality. I caught up on the episodes from the first season, as of today. There was one scene in one where some English Version of the Original Rednecks, some trashy criminal shows up on the estate to cause some trouble. He had been half of a performing act with the butler, much to the butler's shame, back in the day. He was on the run, and extorting the butler for sanctuary and support. The filthy minded proto redneck overplayed his hand by barging into the manse, and giving lip to His Lordship. The exchange between them went something like this. His Lordship said that he would give the trash twenty Pounds, and that the trash should never come near the estate ever again. The trash, not understanding the generosity of that offer, lipped off. He said something like, you think just because of your title you can have your way. His Lordship replied, that yes, because of his title he could have his way. And if the trash showed up again, His Lordship would have him arrested for theft, and blackmail, and sent to jail for at least five years.

If You Don't Think This Picture of Michelle Obama is Racist, You Very Well Could Be a Racist Yourself.

I have to confess. When I first saw the photo (a much smaller version than you see at the link) I was sorta leaning to thinking the picture was merely crude and rude, and way off base. But then I read the text (that originally appeared in a LA Times piece) linking this to the "Uppity" charge, some GOP dicks have been throwing at the Obama's for the past few years. That was enough for me to say, ya. Racist. Subtle, when you compare it to the more obvious racist attackers like Rush Limbaugh, who actually calls the Obama's flat out "Uppity" (and that was the precursor to calling out the lynch mob, back in the day.) But still, the idea behind this picture still rates as a racist dog whistle.

Deconstructed, the meaning of the picture is,"We can't have niggers thinking they better than niggers. Got to keep them niggers in place. Got to keep them down." Ya.

Seeing that spelled out should make it plain. But I am not done here. I am going to link this with something that shitnose Rick Santorum recently said, to prove Campaign 2012 is going to be the Racist's Ball, on the GOP side. (And those Dick Nose Weasels will deny it as they enjoy the cheap nasty misbehaving sixth grader pleasure in lying about what ever bad thing they just did and might just get away with.)

Point is, the point in the sentence, in the paragraph on paper, if you will, clearly is not the point. The point here, is to call P. Obama a snob in a context Santorum might just get away with. It's playing the uppity nigger card in a very cowardly, if somewhat camouflaged way.

Here's the reality of the war so far. We have on one end of the obscene scale, Rush Limbaugh, calling the Obama's Uppity Niggers with out using the word nigger. I don't get the bullshit over Alan Colmes calling Santorum crazy for bringing the dead baby home. I don't really understand why the hospital let them bring the baby's corpse home. They would never let that happen with an adult corpse. Am I right, or am a fucking A right?

I expect Mittens to win Iowa by a nose. Mostly because the others have been mostly slugging at each other, save Newt, who's whining like a little girl about Mittens. Point is, Mittens, if he made the right call, should be concentrating on getting his people to the caucuses. In what ever way makes them happy and made to feel special. Perhaps not Lincolns. Maybe a Buick sorta SUV looking thing, with some nice munchies and shit, in back.

I expect the press to treat this like it is decisive. It ain't, except for anyone who did does so badly they pull out before New Hampshire.

I was well amused to see Mrs. Palin piss on Bachmann, telling her it's time to pack it up. What I really would find entertaining is a food fight between the two of them like what have been going on with the boys in the primary. Meow! Chick Fight! But not the visual kind. Now even if it's Jan. 2, this is the first "Business Day," of the year. Partying is done and it's time to get back to the grind. In that vein, I started the morning on my FB page posting some link to some feature on Huff Po where cranky, racist insane old man Ron Paul doubled down yet again with his opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. As I said in my commentary, I can't know this old right wing racist's heart or mind, but I am willing to believe that that racist doesn't believe he is in fact a racist.

Never minding that it is (seems) an article of faith among white right wingers that their heart, their frame of mind on that specific matter, the question,"Am I a Racist?" matters more than things like? Idunnknow? The racial disparity of political choices and legislation, and other ideas they favor?

Don't judge me based on the results of my desires and works! Only judge me based on my claim of being race neutral in my ideology!

What fucking racist shit these racist wing nuts believe. But like I said on my FB wall. We do not live in the post racial era. Instead, we live in the Post Archie Bunker Era. Over the top racism is pase. Subtle, soft, tone deaf racism is the big problem. As opposed to blatant and knowing racism, subtle, soft racism needs cover. It needs excusing. It needs cop outs. And that explains the existence of this wing nut "motive" theory.

It should not matter one bit that the South Carolina voter id law would no doubt actually, disproportionately impact "black" voters. That's not what we were specifically wanting in our hearts. We only wanted to suppress Democratic votes. So therefore we are not racists.

It blew his tiny racist mind that some people think that so called color blindness could be racist. Fact he only recently learned of this theory -- well I will pull my punch. He's a Securities law Prof. Not a civil rights Prof., never mind Political Scientist. But let me say that if that idea is news to him, he has no fucking business talking about anything having to do with race relations in America. But I could say the same thing for most GOPers/Republicans/wingnuts. Talk about being out of one's natural element. Anyway . . . Go Here For The Insane Bull's Pizzle Drizzle.

Fucker has the nerve to post a vid to Martin Luther King Jr. to support his view. Fucking excuse me? Granted I have dealt with this kind of grotesque ignorance before. I distinctly remember schooling some conservative on the actual meaning of the, "Judged not by the color of their skin," part of the famous "I Have a Dream," speech. What I did was show the guy the preceding lines of the speech, where the actual meaning and context is made plain. Dr. King was not preaching the idea of instant race blindness. He was instead talking about an America where his children would not be discriminated against, because they were black (or make that NOT WHITE, to be more exact.)

And I did convince that one conservative that he had misunderstood the lesson there. But the sad truth is that all too many many right wingers either don't get the real plain meaning of the speech. Or the sneakier smarter ones get it. But they are clever enough to get it, that misreading it, and adopting a color blindness value will better serve their goal. And that goal is to delay, as long as possible, the inevitable end of white privilege in America. And of course, that goal is purely racist.

I Don't Mean Edit, But Don't These Wing Nuts Read Their Shit Before Hitting "Publish?"

Don't get me wrong. I complain here. This is a venting place for me. Part of the reason it works so well for me like that is the lack of any appreciable audience. It's like shouting out loud in an empty field, here. So it's not going to cause me that much embarrassment. Right? Point is. I appreciate the therapeutic idea of ranting/complaining.

But do you remember that routine from SNL,"I Hate it When . . . .?" That was a skit where these two rednecky guys describe various self inflicted painful situations, beginning if not also ending each installment with words to the effect of, "Don't ya hate it when that happens?"

I just read something that stupid and that rednecky. I won't go into the why of it, and the who of it, but I was reading this citizen wing nut's blog. He's not know for any thing. Just a guy. And he was doing a blog/review of some restaurant. And (once my mind latched on to the example) he reminds me of the redneck skit. I will jump to the chase. Dude. If you walk into a restaurant, and it has family style seating, and you hate that shit? Then turn your stupid ass around and fucking leave the place. Don't let the hostess (after waiting for her to show up) seat you. Any complaining about the experience after that point is all on you. It's like listening to the redneck idiot complaining about how it feels after he shoves, himself, chop sticks in his own ears.

Ok. I had hoped to get to the new year with out feeling so compelled to mention silly person Ann Althouse again. But this post is not only about her. It is a re iteration of one of my favorite themes.

Try being funny at your own risk, bitches! And if you fuck it up, it's your fault, not the audience.

Now for the set up. Althouse generally does this totally fucked up shit all the time, where at one level she plays devil's advocate, and sorta seems to advocate fucked up ness, by virtue of not then and harshly condemning such fucked up ness. She will post quotes and links about issue X, Y, or A, and not comment. Or she will comment, and it's supposed to, I am guessing maybe, be tongue in cheek. And apparently sometimes she thinks she is being funny, and says shit that she thinks is funny and people lo and behold, don't get the fucking joke. And according to her, sorta, it's yours it's our fault for not getting the joke.

Case in point. She (again with the fucked up ness in not being clear about what she actually thinks about the issue) posted some quote and link (go here if you must) about whether or not that racist piece of shit Ron Paul is a racist. And her own commentary, in the comment thread after was . . . . let me just post that as a quote:

"Let's be fair. I think he made a lot of money on those newsletters. That's a completely separate motivation for publishing that stuff. Do you think everyone who publishes porn loves exaggerated, promiscuous sex?"

Now to me, that in of itself is much fucked up. Doesn't matter if he was cynically publishing racist homophobic shit to make money. According to my rule, which is the same rule they told us runs the world, when we were in grade school, that all that shit goes on your permanent record? Well using that kind of rule, if you run around pretending to be a racist and homophobe just to make money, you are showing yourself to the public as a racist and a homophobe. That's the part that goes in your permanent record. And ya can't blame people for judging you and harshly, if you run around acting all racist and homophobic. I mean really? As if it is everyone else's job to do the impossible and be able to figure out your fucked up motivations and fucked up inner self? People can only judge based on what they see. And if they see you acting like a racist homophobe, that as they say is that!

I went long there, but that's really my take on the whole Did He Mean It, question. I say it doesn't fucking matter. Moving on though, someone later takes her to task for seeming to defend Paul by talking about the alternative motivation for his racist seeming behaviour. Her reply to that?

Now we get away from the racism shit and back to comedy theory. I have said it before. I will say it here again. Try to be funny at your own fucking risk. It is NEVER the fault of the audience for not getting your fucking lame assed attempts at humor. It is 100% the responsibility of the humorist/comedian/joke teller. Professionals know this. Fucking amateurs oftentimes don't. And I know. Trying to be funny is something a lot of people do. And I am not saying there should be some sort of law that says, only trained professionals should be allowed to attempt this. But if someone is so reckless that they attempt to be funny in public, and don't pull it off? It's their failure, not the audience.

And while I am at it. There's a difference between a novel and a play. And there is a difference between telling a joke (trying to be funny) in person or for tape/vid/film and doing that in text only. Text only is actually harder. Why? Because all the human communication parts are missing. There's no physicality, no tone of voice, no facial messaging, and usually timing is off as well.

Now I have to admit that back when people still emailed jokes to me, I would often hack them to make them read better as a joke, because usually they were badly formatted. And that all goes to my next point, and that is that it is one kind of recklessness to try to be funny in public, but trying to do it in text only communications? That's really fucking hard to do. Particularly when someone really does not get the core idea of comedy. It's less about what the joke teller thinks is funny. It's more about whether or not the joke teller successfully figures out what will be funny to the audience, and successfully entertains the audience.

But again. Unlike Althouse, who has her undergraduate degree in a narrow visual arts field, I have mine in Theatre. I did not exactly take a class in comedy theory. But I did a little acting, and I know, it's the performers job to sell that shit. It is not the audience's job to buy it.

I could have let it slide. But ya know? My argument is inferred in there when I talk about comedy theory, and permanent records. But now that I have thought about it, I do not want to let it go. Her fucked up remark about pornographers? How fucked up is her thinking there? I mean, really! It doesn't fucking matter if a pornographer loves their work. All that matters, and all that is going on their permanent record is that they actually produced and marketed smut. So that whole analogy was very much fucked up.

Firstly, I long for the day it is impossible for any republican to get elected anywhere. So I don't get her complaint. Naturally. But she's being about as obvious as Pat Buchanan with the racism, there.

Now yesterday I took Ann Althouse to task for being a champion of the cause of oppressed white folk. Again, what the fuck? I repeat. What the fuck? Let me first say what I think they both have in common, then I will point out the minor difference. Both I am sure would never say out loud in pubic they are racists. Both would deny that. But the difference is, I am sure that not too deep down inside, Coulter knows she's a racist, doesn't give a fuck, but for that fact there are rules that must be followed. And yes, I am damn sure she pines for the day a proper white woman could call blacks niggers and Hispanics spics or what ever, and not have to worry about offending (anyone that matters.)

Althouse is in a different category. She really doesn't get it, how tone deaf and color blind, and all and all fucking clueless she is about such matters. And by such matters I mean anything having to do with invidious discrimination against oppressed racial and ethnic minorities in America. Again. What the fuck. If one's sensibility gets triggers by bigotry and bias against white people in the USA, one has their head up their ass. That day might come. That day will come, perhaps by the end of this century, when them scary (to Ann Coulter) Mexicans take over, not only in numbers but controlling society, to a great if not most part. But that day is not quite here yet.

Oddly enough Althouse teaches Constitutional Law. I shudder to think about how she teaches 14th Amendment, Equal Protection, and Civil Rights, anti discrimination cases and law.

I guess I am done here. I just found it odd that Coulter went that far. With out the target being P. Obama himself, that is. Let's check. According to the 2010 Census, the American Hispanic population is 31.8 million. And she went and peed in all their Cornflakes. Nice going, you bony assed bigot.

Ok. Now I know for something of a fact that some Herb Cain fans went all verklempt when the perverted, philandering dog of pathological liar suspended his campaign. One in particular I know of, is quite mad, quite out of his mind. He was going to get my "Insane, Most Needs Professional Mental Health Treatment, Ordinary Republican" Award for 2011. Then I saw this vid. Part of me just wants to think this is bullshit. The other part of me thinks this is real, no so much because of the way the woman acts, cries, but the way the other woman off cam really seems to be sincerely reacting to her. Never the less. This year's award is a Tie between the crazy dood I mentioned, and this chick.

Now I am only a lawyer who worked on a Risperdal case. So no one should take me seriously if I say this lady might need some, or some med from the same class. But lady definitely needs some treatment if she busts out in tears upon reading that Granpa Paul is a big old meanie when it comes to siding with Israel. I mean really. Crazy and stupid, because the one thing you can say about Granpa Paul is that he's like a broken record. Been playing the same song, not only for not only years and years, but decades and decades.

Krugman is Correct. But Too Narrow in Focus.

The Xmas truce is almost upon us. I still have a little wrapping left to do but I am as ready for this damned thing as I likely ever will be, this year. Anyway, I just read this oped from Krugman. And as usual, his analysis is spot on. However, he misses the forest for the trees, in a manner of speaking.

He aims his arrows at Mittens, for being a flat out liar. That's true. Mittens is a serial liar. However. Um. Actually They All Lie Like Rugs.

There is this great line in the piece:

Or as Steven Colbert would say, truthiness politics. I'll get back to that, but when I read that, I thought, hmm. The level of rhetoric Mittens is spewing is not really any different than that lying assed bullshit thrown about during the 2008 election. Nothing new going on here, people. In fact, I was put in mind of a conversation I had with an ex friend, who unsurprisingly (as should become clear in the next couple few sentences) turned out to be an evil liar. This was before the 2008 election, and of course she's a delusional wing nut. She said to me that Obama was a socialist, and she could prove it. My reply to that was to ask her, if she thought I was a socialist. She said no. And then I told her, that Obama charts to the right of me on the political spectrum. If I recall correctly, she never threw that insane, bat fucking delusional nonsense my way again. However I am pretty sure that no matter the facts, she still believed, and likely still believes, on some fucked up level, that Obama is a socialist.

How does that work? My guess, and I have said it time and again here, is that there is some weird way that wingnuts can suspend operation of cognitive dissonance. A sane and healthy mind would have trouble maintaining the lie in their heads, that Obama is a socialist. But for a wingnut, all that matters is the hate. Doesn't matter what the definition of the word is. It's an insult. It's an accusation. It's a vehicle for the delivery of some twisted, deep, dark animus that is primordial or some sort of sub sub level of lizard brain function.

Back to Mittens. Mittens is just playing that game. It doesn't matter that Obama and Mittens are in the same neighborhood, on the economic philosophy scale, relatively speaking. Details don't really mean shit here. What really matters for GOP politics is cultivate the hate. Nurse the hate. Exploit the hate.

Friday Sorta Quickies. I am Not Really Up to Speed Yet.

But here goes!

I could go on about the continuing drama over at the Althouse blog. But the actual details are rather tedious. Instead I will talk about meeeeeeee, and how it's all about meeeeee! Not, it's not. But I have the distinct feeling, or near about, like happened around the time Congress was voting to authorize the misadventure in Iraq. I had sent my congress critter an email against such an insane and costly disaster. And when he delivered his quite fine floor speech, I sorta resembled some of the words. But let's be honest. I was not, had not used some obscure words and odd phrasing that could be considered that original.

Likewise, I am just enjoying the fact that there has been a purge over there, following my taking them to task for keeping racist and abusive and disgusting ugly shit from some of the minions there, up on the blog, way too long. I already wrote how I was so amused that her husband, now co admin of the blog, is utilizing my phrase, 'free speech ain't free' (and thanks to among others, Stanley Fish for that idea.) I will try to avoid using an insulting term here, but I will quote the husband, here, with what he posted here, on 4/20/11:

I sorta wanna congratulate him for growing the fuck up and realizing that Free Speech is not really a value, when the speech is so fucking annoying that one wants to bury it. Or in his case, recently, delete, delete, delete. So Mr. Meade. Welcome to the He Man, We Stomp on Shitty Speech We Don't Like, Because We Can, club. Doesn't matter if one is stomping someone else's speech based on viewpoint, or so-called "bad faith." (This is the fucking Internet. Bad faith is the default. Oh, but I remember the cowboy days of ten, more years ago. Don't get me started. The Net used to be a digital version of Deadwood!) Please pardon my digression. All you need do to qualify for membership in the club is wield dat dere delete button. We won't hold you to task, too much, for vague posting policies at your blog. Like the pirates say in that Disney Franchise,"We be consider'n dem tabe merely guidelines, ya know."

Enough of that shit. Even if I have been rubbernecking the toy-train wreck, there really is not much entertainment to be had, there. But IIRC correctly I did predict something scandalous happening to them. But honestly I mean more than a childish Internet spat turned into digital toy-train wreck.

Moving on to another blogger. The douchehnozzle I sometimes call some wingnut professor? Dood has a very fucked up habit, for a lawyer. He expends a lot of energy on his blog defending (wingnuts) people for free. What the fuck up with that? It's been more entertaining than usual with the primary season, and it turning nasty. Boy don't know how to sit back, kick his feet up, and enjoy the show, of the wannabes tearing into each other (and the pundits doing their collateral attacks.) So he has taken to attacking the wannabes for attacking each other (and the pundits for engaging in the sinister crime of actively being a pundit.)

Here's an example of that whiny, silly shit: Whine! Personally, I thought Mittens came across more "animated" than usual, and he did a journeyman's job of humanizing himself. Even the note of discomfort in his posture (I am going from memory of watching it as broadcast,) to my mind helped. Helped so much that I don't really want to hear any more about his lack of authenticity from any the fuck one. He's a stiff, starchy white guy. Authentically so! So get over it!

Back to the wingnut professor. Granted, I don't bother to go to wingnut outposts on the net to argue with wingnut dick-noses anymore. But I do post my arguments here. And I repeat myself, in tone and message, if not exactly verbatim:

Don't you fucking know what the fuck this is? It's a fucking primary, asshole. That is what the wannabes need to do. Rip into each other, in order to win the titled of top fucking dog. Then they are free to try to rip on the other party's top dog. That, asshole, is the fucking game!

So the fact that Mitten's took a (rather mild, actually) shot at Unka Newt while on Letterman is not cause for criticism. It's cause for compliment. Not only did he push back at an opponent, like people in a fucking primary are supposed to do, he did it as a laugh line, on a nationally broadcast highly rated TV show. Fucking good for him!

Under the best of circumstances, here in America, even if you had a stellar field, it is still a contest between the wannabes, first. That is the game. Fuck that 11th commandment stupid bullshit. Oh. And just to make a nice general slam against right wingers, that fucking 11th commandment bullshit about not speaking ill of other GOPers? Again, that is evidence that that party is fucking delusional.

Oh! Ya! The Glorious News! Fucking Boehner and the Grinches in the House caved on the payroll tax. Now personally I don't give a shit about the issue. Really. Well specific to the tax cut, I am all Meh about it. But, and I confess to being a once and maybe future professional liberal political hack, I love the game play, and the tactical victory. I doubt this is the indicator of things to come, but the GOP led Congress is at an all time low with approval ratings, and still the GOP leadership there is way the fuck too willing to vote against the will of the people. I hope they continue to impose such self inflicted wounds on themselves. Or call it Judo, where the fighter uses his opponent's energy against him? Either way, if the Dems win, I am a happy camper.

I was looking over on that damn message board I used to waste time at, arguing with GOPers and such nots. And in a thread started by some asshole I know to be a deep and unrepentant racist, some other sorta racist guy started in with that, the word racist means nothing now, shit.

My thought? Not yet. You fucking racists haven't achieved total victory on that front, yet. But I know you are not going to stop trying, and in merely repeating the meme, you are trying. Fucking racist.

Now on to the hotbed (pun not intended) of white wing nut racism, the U. Texas College Republicans. I would be lying if I said I was horrified that the replacement for the previous evil president of that club is spewing racist nonsense (and doubled down on it.) I expect that sort of shit from those people. So as far as I concerned, the line fits: not a new low, but merely a new medium.

Ron Paul freaked out when called out on his old racist newsletter. Now Grandpa Simpson. Listen up. It's hard to get reasonable people to take your word you are not a racist, when you let racist people spew racist shit in a newsletter published under your name . . . . . time and fucking time and more fucking times, again and again. (I know this because I have temp worked directly and indirectly for NJ Pharma companies.)

Even if I finally got my de minimus Xmas decorations up, and my first Xmas cards in the mail, I still am way the hell not feeling the season, this year. I just want to speed it up to New Year's so can say I survived another shit year. Well it was not all shit. I had a lot of good times. Kept close with old friends, made some new ones, and did not fucking die. So what if I did not get the bank account up to fat and happy levels? Well, that is my main complaint actually. All other irritants in my life would be totally insignificant, provided I had enough money to keep that shit out of sight and out of mind.

And that reminds me. Yes children. The rich are different. They don't have to really deal with shit or people they rather not. Money is good for that. Unless one chooses to slum, or other wise consents to having to breathe the same air and share the same places as the plebes and proles.

And I went on a tangent there. And what I really intended to do was post this pic. After cleaning up my over the top remarks about the mockingly anti-creche creche erected in Madison, in the previous post, this mocking "motivational" pic in my archives came to mind. Now mind me. I am not anti religion. I am anti alleged christians (and similarly disturbed people of other faiths,) whining about how the few of us here in America who really do not respect religion, refuse to actually really respect the shit they happen to believe in. How dare we! I'll tell you how. Religion is supposed to be a matter of personal conscience, in a free society. That means no matter how much your faith tells you to spread the good word, and all that evangelising shit, you do not have a right to have a public, government financed pulpit for your religion. As soon as the assholes get that straight, the more civil a society we will have. Ok. I went long there. Something about this year really has me all full of piss and vinegar. I tell ya!

Personally, I don't really give a shit whether or not they have a traditional creche set up at my town hall. But when some one objects, saying the display is outside the fair rules set by law under the US Const.? I will of course accept the right of others to fight it. In Court. But fight it fair. Fight it honestly. And don't fucking whine about an attack on christians or christianity. Truth be told, none of that shit should be on government property. That what your own homes and houses of worship are for. Let your freak flag fly. Have at it, and enjoy yourself giddy. He haw! But not on public, taxpayer owned or operated lands and sites, when you get called on it. People have been getting over with that shit for years. That doesn't mean it is right, or legal. It just means that the majority bias has been winning the fight in that place, for too damn long, and it is finally being challenged.

I will be paraphrasing from a US Circuit Court opinion, but first the set up. The ruling was against some christianist bigot who sued Augusta State University, after it expelled her from its school-counseling program. She was one of those whack a doodles who thinks you can counsel the gay out of people. That ran not only against the curriculum, but the ethical standards of the field.

What she argued, in court, was that the school:

"Had violated her rights to free speech and the free exercise of her Christian faith when it told her that, in order to stay in the program, she would have to change her beliefs about homosexuality—that it is immoral, unnatural, and a “lifestyle choice” that can be reversed through “conversion therapy.”"

She rightly got her ass handed to her, at the trial court. And the Circuit Court agreed saying she was,"Looking for preferential, not equal, treatment.”

Allegedly, according to management over there, they are getting rid of the "clutter." So I really can't compliment them on a job well, done for the right reasons. It's all sort of arbitrary and capricious. The new commenting policy. And that's fair, in so far as long as one is being honest about being arbitrary and capricious.

For example. I have said, here, that my right to tell people to shut the fuck up matters more to me than their claimed right of free speech. Fuck 'em. My blog. It's all about meeeeeeee! So no matter what I do (and let's be honest, I don't get many comments here) I am being consistent with my non existent policy. However, and I am just saying out loud, if one were to say they have a real policy and not stick to it. Or if one uses some fucked up like a street corner ho junkie, meaningless words to define their policy, like "good faith," one is begging to be pilloried as a bullshit person.

I'll stop there but to say, there is now some fucked up feud between some old commenters from the blog, and the couple who run the blog. And . . . between the whole fucking lot of them there is a lot of dysfunction going on, and plenty of work for therapists and clinicians, for years and years. JMO. And I say that as someone who has been sucked up in Internet drama. I am ashamed of it. And even if at the time I know it was fucked up stupid childish nonsense, I got sucked in, and and regrettably, I went there. Again, embarrassment. Not so much for what I specifically said or did, mind you, but for not saying fuck this stupid shit, I am not getting in that deep.

A certain blogger posts a link to an article where the owner of the business claims that the OWS protests killed his business, after posting an article disclosing (the well known rat fuck trick) the trick of using a false correlation for dishonest proof of causation.

May I say that the point in the trick post was as old news as how to make fire?

Anyway, that business. Now I can't swear the owner if full of shit. Or mostly full of shit. Or only partially full of shit. But I know that part of town fairly well. And when I saw the addy of the biz, 40 Wall, my thought was immediately that the place was South and East of Zucotti Park. And I checked on the map, and it is further East than the NYSE Bldg. So do I think the continued presence of barricades could have impacted his biz? Ya sure. And it has been weeks since I was last working there, downtown. I really don't know how the protest have clogged Wall Street, day after day. That is my admission that I could see that there could actually be a great deal of causation there. But I can't help but think the article about this story does not tell the whole story.

I will leave my speculations there. I can't say more on this to follow, but I would like to hear more details. As well, review the biz's books!

Ok. I usually reserve my broadsides for the GOP pols and pundits, and other alleged leaders of the legion of doom that is the Right Wing. But every now and then, I take a swipe at the rank and file. Because . . . with out them, the so called leaders would have nothing to lead. In modern warfare, bombing the population that fields and supports the enemy army is fair game. So here goes.

Now ...of all people, it was David Brooks, who recently came up with the brilliant (but not original) answer to the question, why does the rank and file of the GOP/Right Wing have such love for seemingly insane people? (Like Nixon, Bob Dole was more than a little loopy, McCain's not too stable, Palin, Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Santorum, and the one who was focus of Brook's article, Newton Leroy.)

Here is the punchline/answer: "Most (right wingers) just want somebody who can articulate their hatreds, and Gingrich is demagogically happy to play the role."

(Brooks had it as "most people." But sorry Dave, that's the Wing Nut way, not the general way.)

Now I confess that I originally posted this on my FB wall, and now I have a bit more to add. And I am going to pull in at least my current embarrassment of a Governor, Chris Christe, as in exhibit. Oddly enough (go watch some Ann Coulter vids from the past year and see/hear for yourself) Christie gets this weird love from wing nuts, because not only is he a verbal bully, but he looks the part, being all huge and obese and dangerous looking. Granted, the person in the world he endangers most is himself. Talk about a triple coronary waiting to happen. But wing nuts just go for that shit in a way that liberals don't.

And I have to say, yes, not much of a confession. But I do prefer P. Obama giving a little push back to his detractors. But I would not support someone who's usual demeanor was being pugnacious. That's not only a turn off for me, but it's usually the sign of at least some lower level emotional/personality disorder. People like that are not effective leaders or statesmen. Even if they can get their way sometimes by being a bully. That's going for the slim chance of short term gains over the rational and adult way, seeking long term security and prosperity. Fuck that, and anyone who supports that kind of government. Well . . . sometimes I think we need some more actual ass kicking. But I mean literally. That or at least to have the right people retired from the game. Or embarrassed out of it. I do have some cunning and devious plans. But that still is not dependent on supporting being a public bully.

I am still trying to not directly mention a certain blogger. But there was some drama going down on her site that leads me to re state and repeat the following. And I might not be directly quoting myself, but I have said the following in sum, here and in other places.

You fucking stupid crazy people. It's only the Internet! If you really take this shit that seriously you need to get away from the computer and get some psych treatment!

Now I must admit. I have been sucked into Internet drama. In my case it was a message board that I was happily trolling, and my then-dear friend insisted on tormenting me about. And then she joined the board. And then she really fucked me over so completely, horribly badly I still think of her as purely evil. Point is that pointless stupid drama was all against my will. We had more than enough ordinary drama going on already. We fucking did not fucking need a supporting cast of fucked up insane message board racist republicans involved in our relationship. It might not have been literally the last fucking thing we needed in our relationship, but it definitely was on the short list.

What I mean to say is I said no I don't want this. That was because I did not want my personal life contaminated by stupid Internet shit. I mean, I did not say it exactly that way, but the idea was there was what really mattered to me in life, and then there was stupid Internet shit. And I did not want any overlap. I knew that overlap was bad. And I was so fucking right about that.

But again. Point is. There is real life. Then there is the fucking stupid Internet. And if you can't tell where one ends and the other begins, then you are totally fucked up in the head, an need help. Seriously.

And to make the point the other way, last night I was at a great party at NYC's University Club. It was for my college regional Alumni Association. After that, I hit Sardi's and caught some live benefit Xmas show there. That's the real world, kids. And the real world fucking kicks the Internet in the balls, four times in a row, and makes it whine like a dying varmint!

Interesting sentiment there. I can agree with it even as I am an arch agnostic. And C.S. Lewis was definitely Catholic/christian. I like the inverse of the usual view. That the soul is this separate part from the self. As an adult, I have had trouble with the whole separate soul bit. It's one of those things that makes for a certain kind of comfortable "spiritual" thought that is too appealing to those seeking spiritual comfort. And that to my mind has the ring of total bullshit.

That is sort of why I reject most of the attributes, and beliefs associated with, particularly, monotheism, and so called christianity. Above and beyond the whole, total lack of empirical evidence to actually support the existence of a god, personal or otherwise? I think too many of the parts people believe and like seem to be what one might expect of comfortable "spiritual" beliefs, if they had been purposefully created to be so comfortable. That's the bullshit factor.

But this way of saying it? Of defining the soul? I can dig it.

I Am Going To Do Some Virtual Sleight of Hand

I need to take a vacation from mentioning, at least directly, a certain blogger. But I saw something posted by this silly person that got me to thinking about a few, let's call them rare but sorta reliable truisms.

Mostly, one should be careful when painting with a broad brush. Sometimes the math and/or otherwise real world data will back you up. Usually it doesn't. In the law of evidence there is this doctrine/rule about so called judicial notice. That allows the court to take basic facts about the known world, or at the smaller scale, what everyone in town knows about the town, for granted, and just move on. The further away from that level of certainty one's statement of alleged reality gets, the more likely someone is saying something speculative, false, and likely embarrassing, when held up to scrutiny.

And in addition to that, I will risk falling under governance of my first observation by saying that when someone starts a statement with words to the effect,"In my experience . . . ," and the following point is not really really empirical, and by that I mean, supported by personal observation after repetitious doing or observing of specific tasks or phenomena? What ever follows will have a large degree of flat out bullshit, if not is mostly bullshit. People live life. People have opinions about things that they actually experience with some good degree of specific observation. And as well they can have opinions that are based for the most part on nothing more than their own biases and prejudices. So that's something that needs to be remembered, I would say.

And lastly, when it comes to broad brush statements about qualitative judgments, expect the judgment to be mostly bullshit. People believe all sorts of shit about the world around them, and their grasp of it. Every now and then (think of the broken face-dial clock being right twice a day) their broad brush bullshit might have some merit. But less than the broken clock, that is not inevitable.

Oh. And the specific remark that led to this commentary:

In my experience — and I'm old, so it's long — people who make a noticeable exhibition of their smartness are not the most intelligent people. They're not the dumbest people. But the smartest people are strategic about displaying intelligence. That's how they outsmart you.

Firstly my counter argument to that is, how smart can someone be if they are relying on one of the oldest bluff, bullshit cliches known to the species? For example if I ever encounter someone pulling some variant of the,"I's justa sim pull 'cuntry law-ya," routine, my radar will immediately go up. That's such a cliche and a well known flim flam, con man, drifter line that who ever uses might well be quoting Iago, in sum from the play, "Othello," but thusly:

Sirah I aim to lead you tenderly by the nose, as asses are. Forsooth!

Now everyone might not be as "on notice" as I am with that "aw shucks" shit. But I know I am not alone in thinking that way. But beyond that point on that "opinion," I am sure a lot of people believe that bullshit. And I can not say for sure that there is no possible way that could be even minimally more the case than not. But the absence of any proof of it, makes it a rather idiotic statement. Unless we are going to count Road Runner cartoons as proof. But hey. Bugs Bunny is way the fuck smarter than his rivals. That's the whole theme that's in play in (well most at least) the 'toons. Wise cracking, joke throwing, smart ass but smart rabbit outwits dummy. So the whole 'toons as proof thing gets us nowhere, at least.

When I said free speech isn't free, months ago, here. But now that the idea is in play based on seeing the very same guy I basically fought against before now defending that idea that free speech has limits, quoting that line, I thought it was a good idea to repost some of Prof. Fish.

I say repost as even if I did some digging around my archives, I do not remember what chunk or bit I published before. Might have been this interview. Might have been directly from his book. In any case, here goes.

Denis Miller even if both were on some extra pure crank.

Anyway, brother man laid down a tribute to Patrice O'Neal, recently deceased black comedian, on his blog. Then Althouse promotes that on the home page of her own hate indulging site, as a separate post. Then the fun begins. Now turns out that this Patrice O'Neal had some skills. He had some interesting observations about, particularly, black white issues. Not as funny as Katt Williams, to my mind, but funny and insightful enough. But O'Neal had a deep misogyny streak. He actually has a vid (of sorts) of him guesting on some radio show where he rants about how he (we??) hate women. Likewise there's the one clip of him vamping on how women's lib has led to oppressed men? What the fuck? How immature and undeveloped can a man be? Talk about having issues much?

Anyway I am not going any more into that part. The guy who wrote the tribute to O'Neal said this, which is less directly hate mongering and more just plain ignorant:

"No political correctness, no caring about anyone's feelings (but no harm intended) or any of that - these are just ideas, finally free, and they must (and will) be dealt with. Fortunately, people do laugh at what he says."

That was from his own blog, and published a couple weeks ago before the comedian died. I think that statement counts as witless. Or at least some bizarre knee jerk cult of free speech (Or Anti Political Correctness) ejaculate. Notice how he puts the people do laugh, almost as an after thought? That's telling to me. Personally I take those anti Political Correctness peeps as general bigots. It's a low level hate mongering, but still it is just a dilute of the purer shit.

I want to go with the smack that both professors don't seem to know the meaning of the word bigotry, but that is not the whole truth. Both fuckers are right wing hacks. And like Humpty Dumpty says, they intend their words to mean no more than what they want them to mean. In other words, they don't give a shit about the real, actual meanings. It's all about what ever shitty scam or game they happen to be running, that minute.

And in this case it is Professor Douglas being the bigot. Why am I so comfortable hurling that trebouchet in his specific direction? Because it is patently obvious he's doing that perverse wing nut game. And I wish I had a more succinct way of saying it, but here goes:

So what is going on here that makes me point the finger back at Douglas? He basically is taking some really minor cracks taken at right wing wing nut icons, and going all bat shit crazy with the accusation of left wing bigotry.

Turns out the first incident in his post concerns some blogger's 1/2 crack at Tim Tebow. Now after some hugely long and boring set up, Douglas posts the "evidence" of bigotry:

That should be what Professor Douglas is paying attention to. But noooooo. He's indignant at the headline a certain blogger used, while republishing the news of Herbie Cain's love you long time, girl on the side:

Granted it was a joke, I mean really! But it actually pumps up Cain's image more than I would. That's why I posted George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" to my FB page last night and dedicated it to Herbie. Emphasis was on the word DOG. I was not going for anything so flattering as that Ghetto Hero pic.

So do I have anything else to say about that or that idiot Douglas? Well I think he either needs to renounce his faith and embrace his inner asshole and claim it as part of his personality that does not need to be disguised with and under false license or cause. Or the fucking hypocrite needs to give up on that sort of insulting shit and get right with his god and face the truth. The truth is he's a shitty excuse for a christian if he's insulting any the fuck one for any fucking reason. And that make him a perfect poster boy for the hypocritical Religious Right.

Ok. Post Turkey Day Politics. I was basically correct in my guess that Cain would be done before Turkey Day. I am not all that surprised he is not officially out of the race. But I did see some headline this morning with him being all immature whiny on losing the love.

But unless something unforeseen happens, he and the Stepford Wife and Ricky Perry are doomed to the kids table, and falling out of the race soon.

On to Unka Newt. Mere fact Newt got to front runner status with all his negatives, ethics scandals, being a bought and paid for whore for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, three weddings and a funeral (that last part is a joke. And if you read my last post mentioning Newt and followed the links, you should get it.) And let's not forget the clearly sociopathic tendencies minus anything resembling "charm" or personal appeal? That tells me Newt might be with us as a wanna be nominee front runner for a spell. The republican base loves them some crazy. They love them some sociopathy.

They raise negative personality traits, like stubbornness, inflexibility in the face of contradictory reality and facts, belligerence with out just cause, meanness, selfishness, and just play assholery to virtues. Sick. I know. That's why I see Unka Newt as viable perhaps past the S.C. Primary. And if he is still competitive after Super Tuesday (Feb 7) expect the rest of the primary to be ugly like we have not seen in a long time. Not to say it is not going to be ugly before then. If there is going to be any religious aspect attached to the event, it should be doing what our heathen ancestors did this time of year, worshiping the Agricultural Deities, for fuck's sake. In other nations in the North Hemisphere, often at the regional if not smaller level, folk are (or have been) celebrating modern day variations on the heathen ancestors' celebrations in honor of the harvest, and the Lords and Ladies of Agriculture.

So where the fuck do people get the idea there is something Judeo Christianist about Thanksgiving? Well before I answer that rhetorical question, let me plainly say that what most people think about the "First" Thanksgiving is more so a result of myth making rather than actual solid history. So that is the context. Beyond that, there's the bit (and likely true, but follow me) about how during that first Harvest at Plymouth Colony Throw Down, that the settlers gave thanks to God Almighty. Ya. These people where Extremist Christian Outcasts. They thanked God for everything, be it waking up alive in the morning, to that first successful bowel movement of the day. They were religious people. The celebration wasn't specifically religious merely on account of that. So in ending I say, what the fuck?

I admit. At first read of the headline and teaser on the blog I found this story, I was ready to go all batshit. Then I read the story. And the story that is linked to in the story. And very quickly I was willing to cut slack. Why?

I have a degree in Theatre. I know how to apply theatrical makeup. Likelihood is these stupid girls did not have a clue, and to make matters worse, did not track down some one who hangs out at the theatre for some help. I have shopped for makeup myself, back in the day. So I know about the kinds and varieties. And all these dumb girls needed to do was go to a store that carries the stuff, or even order it off the Net. I would recommend to pass on the sticky greasy stuff, and get the pancake. And the range is so varied they could have picked any number of nice shades of brown. Now theatrical make up isn't all that expensive. And there were six of them. They could have chipped in for one unit of one good shade and it would have cost them next to nothing. Each. But they were stupid. And stupid is as stupid does.

Now stage actors, ballet dancers, and even opera singers (who are a specialized kind of actor) usually do their own makeup, unless it's way too complicated for the role. It's an age old tradition and serves an important function in the whole "getting into character," ritual. And there is this famous story that has been out there for decades about the one star tenor who was singing the lead in "Otello." And he did his own makeup. And he liked to leave his shirt unbuttoned at the neck and upper chest. And one day he did that. But he forgot to apply the make up on his neck and chest.

Ya'll have heard about that one wing nut named Michele Malkin? Do you remember the idiotic story about her launching some hate mongering campaign against Rachel Ray? The reason for that was because Ray was in some ad for Dunkin Doughnuts wearing a scarf that clearly was NOT a Keffiyeh, but was too close to one for Malkin's tender loony sensibilities.

That was back in (as recently as) 2008. Flash forward to the now. Seems I can't watch a news clip of the troopers or marines in either Afghanistan or Iraq with out seeing Americans in uniform wearing one. Hell, a few weeks ago I noticed that the age old Army Navy store in NYC on 42nd and 8th Ave were selling some of the "military" versions. And when I googled it (before starting to type this) I found the IDF one!

So will Malkin ever apologize for her hateful insanity over something that really even wasn't really one? Don't hold your breath. And that my friends is yet another reason wing nuts really suck.

Althouse Defends Cain, in Recent Bloggingheads Vid.

No. No no no no no no!

It might be a good seven years since I was practicing employment law, but I remember well the general rules of workplace behaviour. Never mind a lot of the law. Now silly person Ann Althouse chose to defend Cain's possible over-the-top, and possibly too familiar work place behaviour. She basically argued that it was a valid defense to being such (as opponent in the vid, Glenn Loury suggested,) a cad that that just his personality. Ya. She went there.

Then she made the to my mind totally 100% wrong statement that his personality was running afoul of something that was merely a subjective standard held by some people in that work place. Now I have heard more offensive and blatantly wrong defenses of Cain's alleged, and similar alleged behaviour. but this is likely the worst offending bullshit I have heard from a lawyer (leastwise, one who's day job is not being a wing nut pundit, radio/TV host.)

Now before I get to the fun part, where I gratuitously use a lot of cuss words (cause I enjoy it, and more so, it's the cheap and lazy way to add emotional emphasis here,) I will recount a story of a fight I had with some fucking idiot on a message board, regarding proper work place behaviour.

Now that week there was this conservate faux outrage story about the unfairness of the treatment of some stage hand/grip booked to work some democratic political event. Now he got his nose all bent out of joint because one of the people higher up the food chain told him to cover up his T shirt, on account it advertised the naval ship named after Ronald Reagan. His excuse to showing up on the job site wearing that shirt, was he was "honoring" his son who served on that ship. Some people, particular the stupid fucker I was arguing with, thought that made it ok. I went bat shit on her. No. That was not ok. And I explained why.

I explained that I had recently been and employment lawyer. But before that I used to be a stage hand myself. And I explained that (often, not always the case) stage hands have dress codes. If I was working backstage at a certain kind of performance, I would be told to wear all black. At another kind of show, classical music performances, where I had to step on stage to move a piano or set up or remove music stands or chairs? I had to be dressed almost as formally as the musicians. Not a tux, but black or dark suit, or suit jacket and pants, proper shirt with professional tie, proper dress shoes. I explained all that to the stupid person to make the point plain, if you are a stage hand, you should be used to being told what you can and can not wear. It's part of the job. It's part of being a professional.

More's the point though, I argued, after switching into lawyer mode, no fucking one was paying him to honor his son. He was there to do his job. To do what he was told, not engage in advertising his opinions or feelings about anything.

And that gets me back to Althouse's silly defense of Cain. Even if he was a lobbyist, and even if doing his job did involve to a greater extent than many people "selling" his personality, while in the office, he had to follow the same rules as the rest of the office. He might be paid, mostly, for his real or imagined or hit or miss allegedly charming way with people. But in the office he was in the regulated zone. There is nothing new about work place standards. There is nothing new about knowing that if there is an objective standard (and that is pretty fucking clear stuff -- has been for decades,) and if one's personality goes past those standards, one not only is fucked. One should be good and well fucked. And that seems to be what was wrong with Cain. Cain must have had several workplace sexual harassment trainings or at least had to read policies and usually one signs the thing, saying they read, understand, and agree to be bound by that. So Althouse's defense is no defense at all.

Even if the rules in the workplace are more restrictive than in the social zone, there are similarities. Try to be charming at your own risk. Try being flirty at your own risk. Try to pick up or hook up at your own risk. And that is why I think Althouse's defense is silly. Not only does it go against the known law, and what most of us at least know is the law of the workplace. But it goes against commonly understood social rules. Be "Yourself," at your own risk. Some people might dig you being you. Others will take offense at your presumptuousness, your over familiarity, your excuseless, rude fucking nerve. And in the work place, more so, if you do any thing past the work place rules about sexual harassment that you likely agreed to on paper (and there is no doubt in my mind there's a signed policy form with his siggy in his archived HR file,) you do so at your own risk. And there's no excuse for it. Never mind, defending it.

Now I know I am not the most objective person when it comes to us vs them, political matters.

I long for the day the GOP is at least reduced to a still weakening, regional only party, mere years away from functional extinction. So I confess my deep partisanship must cloud my otherwise empirical and fact analyzing mind. Sometimes. So I will phrase my observation in the form of a question. Noonan or Althouse? Who's Being Sillier?

Ok. I will actually throw up (pun intended) the link. But here is the question restated. Who is being the sillier person? Peggy Noonan, for first saying that Rick Perry's brain fart was "endearing?" Or Althouse for seeing the point?

I won't go so long, but this perverse observation and seconding of the emotion needs a little bit of deconstruction, at least for the record. We are talking about Rick Perry. Man's a gaff machine built in the George W. Bush vein. But even more goofy than W. To re-tool the old line I like to use, if just about any other of the GOP Nom Wannabes save Insane in the Membrane Cain had that kinda brain fart during a debate, it would have been a new low for them. For Perry it's just a new medium. Particularly if Romney had such a humanizing moment, now that would have been special. But for Ricky Rick? It's less of a must see TV moment than one that merits a Gallic shrug. And I mean un petite one.

Now between the two ladies, I would rather down a couple two three many good single malts with Ms. Noonan at The Alqonquin. I think she would make for better conversation. And I would find it a cheap thrill to experience her well known sighs, in person, up close, with the unmistakable whiff of Highlander Scotch on her breath. Or maybe she's more into Cosmos? Whatever.

I say the following as someone who clearly is a flirt. And to the surprise of some of my lady friends, I'm rather a tame flirt for my family. (Call that just the blood lines that form my greater family, or even the whole tribe I belong to: Cape Verdians. Flirting is like breathing to us.) But that is the it's-all-good-fun stuff.

But I think about the Herb Cain allegations and I am thinking he's nothing like a flirt. He's first and foremost a salesman. So he's selling a line of bullshit to begin with. And he's more horny for power than anything else. He will try to charm in his salesman's way. But he's always after some THING. Money. Power. Advantage.

And that's why this scandal isn't so much a sex scandal. It's a lack of character scandal. (So says me.)

Personally I have given up on GOP chix. No matter how hot a hot mess, I am no longer attracted to GOP chix, because I end up fucking broke, or feeling like someone has been trying to slowly kill me over time, if not faster than that. But that's the lessons of life for me, at this point.

But I have seen that the sexist, evil lying tea bagger faction of the GOP is bringing out the sharp and deadly knives against Sharon Bialek. Now if you want to see misogyny, watch the wing nuts. But after seeing the "classic" smear job on the Cain Victim, I have to say, so she's a hot mess? What of it? It's not her personality and character that's at issue here. It's the fuck face who claims to want to be POTUS.

This sordid new chapter, now that there is a face and name behind the accusations, is all the evidence any rational person needs to know, to know that at it's core the GOP is an evil, wicked thing. Never mind the shell game they usually play. No bitches. What ever the fuck happened with Clinton does not have a place in this debate. That's ancient history and is not at issue. Likewise, bitches. Clarence Fucking Thomas, no matter how many real or not parallels can be drawn, has no bearing on the issues of the moment. Those issues are properly, whether Cain is a dog. Whether he is a liar? Whether he is a sociopath? Whether he is mentally well? And I use that term instead of stable and I don't think he quite qualifies as generally unhinged, or bi polar, catch him on a bad day and he's boiling the cat alive, because he's angry and bored. But Cain is insane in the membrane. And many of these wing nuts admire that about him.

The GOP is is an evil, wicked thing. And far too impressed by the veneer of charm that barely disguises sociopathy. But that is what so many of the unimpressive, emotionally and intellectually stunted base aspire to be: a full fledged, powerful, evil bastard. Sociopath. Same fucking thing.

And I was willing to do that, but I just saw this and had to express about it somewhere. So much for the vast left wing media conspiracy. I have been reading a lot and watching a lot of cons/wing nuts whining about journalistic ethics. Now is that ethical? Will we see or hear any cons/wing nuts calling out News Corp for that?

It's Odd When a Wing Nut Makes Sense . . .

And even more odd, when they confess their tactical agenda. Now there's this fool of a blogger I usually refer to as some wing nut professor. Now the post in question isn't his, but I read it on his blog, just now. The headline is "The Right Must Not Use The Race Card As Recklessly As The Left." Here.

Now I do not concede that the left uses the race card recklessly. But I agree with the author that in the Cain drama, several wing nuts, inc. Cain and his campaign, have gone into the insane alternative reality, by playing the race card. Beyond making no sense here, it is just more evidence of how Cain is not-ready-for-prime-time.

But there's an odd confession in that piece. I will quote the chunk first:

"Our desire to hit the left back in kind is making us lose sight of the need to control the narrative. In using this tactic, conservatives make the discussion about racism while conceding that there is a lot of it. The question of just how prevalent racism is in America is key to the differences between liberals and conservatives on the matter of race. By claiming that it is rampant, we concede an important point for the momentary satisfaction of a gotcha soundbite."

I find two interesting confessions there. Firstly the one about desire to hit back in kind. Yup. That is a pathology. And even if that is not the first time I have seen that confessed. Shit. Limbaugh all but confessed the same shit last week in the middle of one of his racist rants regarding the Cain scandal. But it is interesting to me that wing nuts are admitting that really sick pathology.

Oh. and the other confession is the one about it being important to conservatives to oppose the idea that racism is rampant in this country. That's even more pathological. Note that the writer did not qualify that to the limited idea that racism is rampant in some sub part, like the GOP. Nope. He goes for the maximum application there. Wow. Just wow. Which just makes the whole post pathological.

Shorter version of the whole argument:

Don't act like racism is rampant, as we are married to the idea it isn't.

I want to give proper credit. A poster on her blog said it best, regarding her froot loopy opinion of the Howard Kurtz "interview" with Politico reporters, about publishing the Herb Cain sexual harassment story. Credit goes to a person going by the handle Ritmo Re-Animated:

"Shorter Althousian narrative: "How dare you criticize or question the integrity of a Republican candidate for president?""

That pretty much sums it up, but the real silly part is the dopey assumptions she seems to be going forward from. Particularly, since when the fuck is it a journalist's duty to ONLY publish the story if all the sordid details are known? Answer. It has never fucking been so.

Likewise, since when the fuck is it the duty or even job of other jornos to "interrogate" other journos about publishing the story with out having all the sordid details? Answer. Since fucking never.

I know Althouse does not consider herself a (hack partisan wing nut) right winger/GOPer. But she seems so willing to buy into their alternative reality narrative that she might as well be wearing the t-shirt and have the membership card in her wallet.

But enough about that silly person. As I said on my FB wall last night, I find it completely odd (but I am not surprised about it) how Cain can get more popular with the base by declaring war on the news media, instead of scorched by the actual history of his own scuzzy behaviour. But that is some of what is wrong with the GOP base. They really don't give much of a fuck about certain kinds of scuzzy behaviour by their own. And they seem to hate the so-called liberal news media so much that they get off on seeing some asshole fucktard like Cain growling and snarling at reporters. Seems very fucking sick to me. Not that I think the news media is beyond criticism. Then again my criticism is more about how the news media pull their punches too much. That's my take. So the phenomenon of people going all batshit on the news media for dogging folk is an insane thing to me.

That's their fucking job! To dog people. And they frequently do not dog folk hard enough. But those wing nuts do get it. Some of them are still whining about how P. Obama was not properly vetted. But what those fucktards don't get it, no one really cared much about Bill Ayers, or Rev. Wright. Now if there was a juicy sexual harassment story that had actual minimal factual basis back in P. Obama's past? Now that would have been a story with legs. But when it was all said and done, there really was not much in Obama's closet. Same can not be said about Herb Cain.

Anyway, I am sick of Insane Cain. And I am sick of fucking GOPers. And people who are not, but play one on TV. Or on the Internet.

Can I Be Sick of the Story, and Intrigued at the Same Time?

Ya. Cain. Can't get enough of it and I am sick of it. I have heard the hook up story. Funny how that's not getting much press. Even funnier, the threat by the campaign mgr about suing Politico. Ya. Stole that one right from Cyborg Sarah's play book. I know that as a general matter there are wing nut lawyers out there with no ethics at all. But filing that civil complaint would really put someone on the bottom of the lawyer's shit list, even if restricted to wing nutters.

But I think the main reason I am getting sick of the story is this is not so much looking like a Shakespearean tragedy as much as like a monster/slasher movie. The fucking zombie won't stay dead, damnit. And I want the huge ugly ending to the Cain Insane Train NOW damnit! Before the big Hollywood Holiday flix come out.

Entertain me, damnit! Show me a good show! I got tix to the opera in a couple weeks.
