Yeah, but really . . .

Here is one of my favorite quotes about the Human Species (from that sociologically brilliant film, "MIB.")

"A person is smart; people are dumb panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

Well I agree with that, generally. Funny, but so often (I don't have real data for exactly how often) when you get people together you end up with a far more stupid thing, than any of the individuals.

However . . . lately . . . I have been dealing with either way too many freakin' morons . . . or. . . the same freakn' moron, way too much.

I will stop there.

No need in obsessing.

It is the weekend.

Time to relax.

Confession time (redundantly, although)

YES (**shakes head in SHAME**), I admit it. I still "Rubber Neck" the Hannity message board.

What can I say to justify that; that I still think it is important to see what the other side is saying about the issues of the day? Or is the correct reply that every now and then I do find something hysterical there (but just as Mr. Hannity is ONLY funny when he is actually meaning to be taken as SERIOUS, likewise with TOO MANY of his fans.)

Ok, but here is the bit that was funny. Not in the ha ha, funny sense, but this comment was a reply to a particularly evil example of what I consider to be the the real forces of evil in the world and the worst threat to our ordered system of liberty:

Stupid Reactionary Wanna Be Archie Bunkers, who think they are funny smart people, but really are no smarter that a bucket full of snot, and are only as funny as getting a root canal.

(Ok that was long, sorry 'bout that.)

Anyway, here is the quote:

"I'm not sure what group you think you represent with your pathetic little hate rants, but one thing is sure, that group has no class."

Kudos to the author of this very accurate, and when it is compared to what I have called that (the object of the remark) person, very polite truism.

My favorite word for that (the object of the remark) person is . . . . and I will only give you a clue, is that word that rhymes with HUNT.

Hey, the person in question idolizes Ann Coulter so much that she once said she wished she was Ann Coulter, so can any objective person blame me for my favorite word?

But still . . . kudos to the author of the more . . . restrained comment.

I am too much of a Old School Joisey Boy for mincing words (when NOT mincining them is an option!)

Hey! Goodie! I do have something new . . .

(that ain't technically political.)

Here goes.

So I have been watching a video of the most recent Bill Maher show, and there was this putrid pundit, this minion of Satan (AEI tool; same thing, in my view) pontificating, and more-to-the-point, bullshitting and flat-out lying his demonic ass off. Anyway, the thought occurred to me that the best way to deal with such a servant of evil would be to say something like this:

"You are lying there. Or bullshitting. Doesn't really matter which. I resent that. I ain't your damn friend and I will not put up with that shit from you. I really don't care if you don't like my tone. TRUST ME when I tell you, DO NOT DARE try to feed me shit and pass it off as if it were a chocolate layer cake."

Ok so I do get wordy sometimes. I did say that in my profile right?

Tough Call, this week . . .

for the "It is not POLITICS, it is HUMOR," feature.

Steven Colbert's "button on your balls and impeach the President," bit had me rolling, even if he missed the obvious follow up to the sub-joke about how the democrats could reduce Bush's popularity like Clinton's was, by impeaching him.

Shit, Bush's popularity is so low that impeachement could give his popularity rating a 3 point boost (back over 35% for the first time since . . . forever! Sympathy points!)

Instead, Jon Stewart's follow up to the Bolton interview -- his telephone-play with noted and respected historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, does, to my mind, take first prize, this week.

I don't think I can do an embed here, as all I gots is the link.

Go for it, here:

I am so FRACKING tempted to Go Political . . .

(fyi, Frack is the Battlestar Galactica stand-in for my favorite Eff-Woid) but I am going to try to keep with my record of going to the borderline, and pulling back.

THIS IS SOOO FRACKING HARD AS THE TEMPTATION IS SO FRACKING STRONG!

Ok I think I have pulled myself together.

After all, there is something that I think is so much more important to my life than whether or not we have Honest Moral Government (not that we likely ever had such a thing, it is just that recent events seem to be a NEW LOW.)

And what is more important to my life?

Hotties!

How about this trio of steamy brunettes?

(Works for me! Love them more than I love nasty, tricksy, dirty politics, for sure!)

More "It is not politics, it is humor," stuff.

Saturday, March 17, 2007

There is a reason I have Spaghetti Westerns on my mind.

Last night I downloaded and got half-way through "A Few Dollars More." According to some it is better than "Fistfull of Dollars."

Anyway . . . I am going to borrow from one of those other Clint Eastwood guns and grit films, for my theme of the week:

The GOOD:

The BAD:

And the UGLY:

Oh shit. Now I remember . . .

some time during this day, the sum of the following came to mind, for a post here.

On second thought, screw that!

Instead of focusing on what TOTALLY SUCKS in the world, I will focus on what is WICKEDLY DECENTLY GOOD in the world:

HAWT looking women:

Ok, ya. I went with Impressionist Art instead -- a Whistler, I think -- instead of a real photo of some likely still-living hottie.

What can I say? Not only in her day, but in any day, she looks much the hottie to me.

Basically Floating Quote Day.

{I don't do it on schedule, but I do it frequently, if erratically.}

“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.”

Oscar Wilde

"Think'st thou there are no serpents in the world But those who slide along the grassy sod, And sting the luckless foot that presses them? There are who in the path of social life Do bask their spotted skins in Fortune's sun, And sting the soul."

Joanna Baillie

"The easiest way to be cheated is to believe yourself to be more cunning than others."

Pierre Charron

“Insanity in individuals is something rare, but in groups, parties, nations and epochs it is the rule.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

“A man sufficiently gifted with humor is in small danger of succumbing to flattering delusions about himself, because he cannot help perceiving what a pompous ass he would become if he did.”

Konrad Lorenz

“Truth may sometimes hurt but delusion harms.”

Vanna Bonta

"Some folk need to be medicated, and the sooner, the better."

Aww Crap!

I was trying to copy paste this chunk from some other site that well-described my current thoughts and feelings about American culture and the doom that awaits us all ( my pessimism).

But the code was harsh and I could not carry it over, so instead I am FORCED to go POLITICAL.

OK . . . this is me getting POLITICAL again, for the first time in months and months.

Given the choice between flirting with a pretty lady or discussing politics, I much rather flirt with the pretty lady.

Flirting is FUN.
Politics sucks (and I say that as a former playa in the game.)

Anyway I will leave it there. Now someone point me in the direction of the pretty ladies I can flirt with, please?

Anti - stream

Ok I am ready to field-test my idea.

"Damn boy! Jealous much?" (Thought by me today, but not spoken.)

"They have a drug for that." (Spoken, but it was on Monday that I said it.)

"Katie Couric, lookin' fine in the black suit." (thought by me, watching tonight's newscast.)

"I think the freaky bastard is getting even more 'twitchy'." (essentially thought in those words, but left unsaid.)

The Internet sucks (ya, I just said it just now, and am always thinking it.)

Mixed Emotions

Ok (my mind is still making this stuff up as I type here, so) I am not sure what to say but I think I should say something, but several things have been on my mind lately, so . . .I think I am going to opt for anti-stream of consciousness.

Never heard of it? I just invented it (I think -- DIBS!)

So that might explain the novelty.

Anyway, here is my idea about how it should work.

Instead of writing some long, incoherent, babbeling diatribe, I will instead slap up some quickies, in no apparent order, and with no particular bent for transitions.

Ok?

Here goes.

DELTED . . . . .DELETED . . . DELETED . . . DELETED.

Maybe another day. I got on a political theme there, and self-censored. But hey I did at least come up with a new stylistic theme didn't I?

I think I need to just shut up and play my guitar. This one (well, near abouts!)
