Who Am I Anyway? One View.

Following up on my mention in my profile, and inspired by a friend's posting of her Jung-Kerisey Personality results on her blog, here is my full description.

Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging (Introverted Intuition with Extraverted Feeling)

The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and directive and introverted in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable, since Counselors have an unusually strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their companions. Although Counsleors tend to be private, sensitive people, and are not generally visible leaders, they nevertheless work quite intensely with those close to them, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes with their families, friends, and colleagues. This type has great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with complex issues and people.

Counselors can be hard to get to know. They have an unusually rich inner life, but they are reserved and tend not to share their reactions except with those they trust. With their loved ones, certainly, Counselors are not reluctant to express their feelings, their face lighting up with the positive emotions, but darkening like a thunderhead with the negative. Indeed, because of their strong ability to take into themselves the feelings of others, Counselors can be hurt rather easily by those around them, which, perhaps, is one reason why they tend to be private people, mutely withdrawing from human contact. At the same time, friends who have known a Counselor for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that they are inconsistent; Counselors value their integrity a great deal, but they have intricately woven, mysterious personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.

Counselors have strong empathic abilities and can become aware of another's emotions or intentions -- good or evil -- even before that person is conscious of them. This "mind-reading" can take the form of feeling the hidden distress or illnesses of others to an extent which is difficult for other types to comprehend. Even Counselors can seldom tell how they came to penetrate others' feelings so keenly. Furthermore, the Counselor is most likely of all the types to demonstrate an ability to understand psychic phenomena and to have visions of human events, past, present, or future. What is known as ESP may well be exceptional intuitive ability-in both its forms, projection and introjection. Such supernormal intuition is found frequently in the Counselor, and can extend to people, things, and often events, taking the form of visions, episodes of foreknowledge, premonitions, auditory and visual images of things to come, as well as uncanny communications with certain individuals at a distance.

Just Wondering . . .

What is more important to more people?

That what they think they believe, is seen as the truth, or knowing the truth?

Which is more vital to the future of the species?

Advancement of any particular socio-political theory, or the more-universal embracing of true decency of spirit and act?

What is the real core feature of living a genuine moral life?

Following a particular dogama, or just following the golden rule?

Which is the better measure of what is a right (as opposed to a wrong) decision?

Certainty of the choice, or a recognition of the chance that you could be wrong?

(I'll stop there. I could take this further, and may do so, in the future.)

Happy Ides of March

Yes, it is the most August (pun intended) anniversary of The creation of Great Ceasar's Ghost.

I am not going to wax long on the idea. Maybe a little establishment shot, though.

Julius Ceasar was murdered by well-meaning people who feared tyranny, despotism, dictatorship and concentration of way too much power in one set of hands.

Granted, the end result of the political upheaval following the Ides was the Roman Imperium.

So they all ended up with centuries of tyranny, despotism, dictatorship and concentration of way too much power in one set of hands, anyway.

Guess good intentions don't mean squat, if you fail.

Am I feeling Obligated to Post?

Sorta.

Not that my brain is ever without thought (I will leave open the matter of worth), but I am still not focused on anything . . . well not anything I have not already riffed on yet.

Let's try another chorus and verse on liars.

Here is a great quote I just heard on the TV show I am sorta watching right now, called "Criminal Minds."

The genuine Native American, while confronting the little Anglo Saxon chicklet who has been sucked into some twisted Native American based cult, and has been spewing to him some totally bogus and inaccurate "Apache" babble says:

"You are using words you don't even understand."

That is a great observation, and has wide application.

There are too many people out there using words they do not understand.

I will leave it there, for now.

Not terribly FOCUSED today

Off the cuff, musing of the day.

Maybe the world is not as dumb as I thought.

I googled "Hannity" and got 5,310,000 hits.

I googled "Plato," and got 32,000,000 hits.

Plato beats Hannity. Yea, that!

Next I googled "Coulter." Got 18,900,000 hits for that. I guess Sean Hannity would be more popular if he had nasty skinny legs, and wore a miniskirt, maybe??

Ok. Next I googled "Chomsky" and got 16,200,000 hits for him. Being only a few points off Coulter, I don't think he needs to start wearing mini skirts!

Now next I googled "Jesus Christ." 59,500,000 for The Son Of Man and Lamb of God.

That's a good mark of popularity!

Next search? The"Prophet Mohammed." 6,570,000 hits for him. Ok, now there may be more of his followers on the planet, but less of them are on line, it seems.

Now my next unscientifically chosen search was for "american idol." Score for that was 43,100,000.

Then, at last, I googled "sex."

Got 524,000,000 hits for that.

At least as far as my random survey says, Sex beats all else!

Err. Excuse me. Correction. Before I posted this I decided to google "politics."

That scored a mega whopping 837,000,000 hits!

Ok then. Now we have the facts. More people like bitching and moaning about something they have, for the overwhelming part, No Control At All over as an individual, than the pleaures of sex.

So I must vacate my earlier statement about how the world might not be as dumb as I thought.

It is FAR FAR WORSE than I ever expected!

(*sigh*)
